To Whom It May Concern:
Tim VanRiper has been one of my closest friends since 1995. Through these
almost 20 years of friendship, I have become very familiar with his character,
personality, strengths and weaknesses and his work ethic. Tim has worked very
hard to better himself from a childhood of struggle and dysfunction, to become a
man who carries himself with pride and confidence in everything that he does. His
attitude is consistently positive and optimistic even when faced with difficult
situations or unforeseen problems. He is a source of energy for those around him
and he consistently draws people’s attention to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Tim’s personality is thoroughly sanguine and highly influential. His light-hearted
sense of humor and boisterous smile draw people like a magnet, and remove many
of the societal barriers that social media has recently re-developed. Many people
will see that Tim is passionate and engaging, even with strangers. This is a quality
that ought to come across as a breath of fresh air to many of today’s employers who
value customer service and workplace cohesion.
When it comes to Tim’s strengths and weaknesses, they are often one in the
same. He works very hard and tends to put in more hours than anyone I’ve ever met.
Though this is an outstanding quality for the employer, Tim never stops working.
After hours and on days off it is not uncommon to see Tim at work, running around
trying to fill gaps and ease stressful conditions. On the other hand, as a friend, Tim
always seems to be distracted by his job and his desire to make sure everything is
running smoothly. Personally, I believe it would benefit his health greatly if he
learned to say “no” at times or to simply “clock out” once in a while. Never the less,
he is impressively dedicated to his wife, his family and his employer. Tim is the kind
of person who cares deeply for the people around him and is always willing to
sacrifice himself for their betterment. I would describe him as honest, hardworking,
energetic, dutiful, considerate, humble, and committed to others’ success. I have
never met someone who goes above and beyond as often as Tim VanRiper does, and
I am confident that any employer would be greatly blessed to have him on his or her
team.
Sincerely,
David R Miller
