COLONEL TIMOTHY A. ADAM
Col. Timothy A. Adam is the Principal Assistant and Policy
Advisor to the Assistant to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of
Staff (ACJCS). He leads the collection of global policy and
intelligence for the U.S. Military Advisor to the Secretary of
State. A member of the Secretary of State's Senior
Executive delegation, Colonel Adam prepares the ACJCS
and Secretary of State for multi-lateral engagements to
ensure the Chairman's best military advice is offered
during dialogue with foreign dignitaries.
Colonel Adam entered the Air Force in 1986 as a graduate of
the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Cincinnati. A career space
and missile operator, Colonel Adam led operations as a commander in satellite
command and control, missile warning, Delta II launch operations, and
Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). As an operations program manager at
Headquarters Air Force Space Command, he managed budget actions and the
execution of the Air Force’s $17B expendable launch vehicle fleet. He also
prepared the 13 year space launch forecast and established policy for all east and
west coast launch operations. While serving as a Division Chief on the Joint Staff
J3, Colonel Adam developed Secretary of Defense guidance for the execution of the
nation’s first ballistic missile defense system and advised the Chairman on
deployment strategies for all defense and intelligence satellite constellations.
Colonel Adam has served as an ICBM squadron operations officer, commander,
and deputy operations group commander. He attended the National War College at
Fort McNair in Washington D.C. and held key leadership roles on 9/11, posturing for
