and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance
and Reconnaissance (C2ISR)
Directorate, Foreign Military Sales
(FMS) and International Programs,
Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom
Air Force Base, MA. The C2ISR
directorate, based out of Hanscom
AFB, MA acquires fields, modernizes,
integrates, standardizes and sustains
unit- and theatre-level C2 war fighting
capabilities to the Combined Joint
Forces Air Component Commander
and foreign military customers, on
time and within budget. Primarily
located at Hanscom AFB, Mass., a
contingent of the group is also located
at Langley AFB, VA. He is directly
responsible for rapidly providing
integrated, cost-effective Air
Operations Command, Control and
Communications, Radar Surveillance,
Air Space Management, Air Policing
and Data Fusion Capabilities in
support of FMS and international
activities.
Mr. Bessette enlisted in the Air Force
in 1980 and was selected for the Airman’s Education Commissioning Program in 1983. In 1986,
Mr. Bessette was commissioned in the Air Force and served as a Product Assurance Engineer at
Wright Patterson AFB, OH. In 1991, Mr. Bessette entered federal service as a project engineer
for the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) Program at Hanscom AFB, MA.
Throughout his career, he has held key management positions in information technology, air
traffic control, signal intelligence, aerospace management, and satellite communications. In
2001, Mr. Bessette worked at the Volpe Center National Transportation Systems Center as the
Program Manager for National Airspace System (NAS) Engineering & Integration, where he
was responsible for various NAS equipment integration efforts at locations around the globe.
