1. Q6. What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
Usingour researchwe have learnedthatmosthorror filmopeningswill use the same conventions.
These normallyare of the setting, someonedying, meetingthe maincharactersand/orkiller,talking
aboutthe problems(killerandstoryline) andsometimesseeingthe mainweapon/methodof killing,
unlessthese conventionsare beingchallenged,whichrarelyhappens.
In ‘The Shining’we see the settingof alarge building. It’sinthe middle of prettymuchnowhere
whichisa commonthingto see inhorrors.
Here’sthe buildingin‘The Shining’.
We didour bestto use these same conventionswithoutcopyingothermoviestooanduse ourown
ideaof a storyline otherwise itwouldbe plagiarism.Inouropening,we see the antagonist(killer)
and the protagonist whoare our maincharacters (withanextrawho isthe victim);one of the
settingswe decidedon andwe see the methodof killingasthe victimisstrangledtodeath.
Protagonist
Victim(Extra)
Antagonist(Killer)
