WTI crude oil peaked in the dead zone at
around $46.00 a barrel when aggressive
selling came in again to pull down the
whole pack around the barrel. This was
just another day conducted by automated
algorithmic trade.
Same story was evident when the NYMEX
gasoline contract fell off sharply at around
16:30 CET. This was a one hundred point
move in about five minutes. For WTI the
value at $44.20 a barrel seemed to be the
comfortably felt support zone, while this
should be the case for gasoline at $1.38 a
ton ahead the summer/winter switch.
Brent dated closed today at $49.00 (+0.30)
a barrel, which should give us a hint what
this markets momentum is about to go
now. EBOB barges were assessed fob AR
at $507/508 (-4.00).
ARA distillate premiums closed a shade
higher than on last Friday. The EU cracks
finished at $17.72 (+0.36) a barrel, while
the front month spread between WTI and
Brent was $4.59 (4.47)
