We reproduce here below the Agriculture Ministry report of Kharif oilseeds sowing data for week
ending 31st
August, 2017 vis a vis same period of the last year (2016) as under :

Crop-wise Brief:
Groundnut : Area coverage during Kharif 2017 is lower by 4.52 lakh ha compared to corresponding
period of Kharif 2016.
Soybean : Area coverage during Kharif 2017 is lower by 8.12 lakh ha compared to corresponding
period of Kharif 2016.
Sunflower : Area coverage during Kharif 2017 is lower by 0.29 lakh ha compared to corresponding
period of Kharif 2016.
Sesamum : Area coverage during Kharif 2017 is lower by 0.63 lakh ha compared to corresponding
period of Kharif 2016.
Castor : Area coverage during Kharif 2017 is lower by 0.72 lakh ha compared to corresponding period
of Kharif 2016.
We reproduce here below a State-wise Kharif Oilseeds sowing position as on 31st
