The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) provides more than
$9 billion in financial assistance to help communities build,
improve, maintain, and operate public transportation systems.
BUSINESS CHALLENGE:
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AT FTA
The FTA needed to better leverage organizational learning to achieve itschang-
ing mission. Improvements were necessary to deliver leadership, technical and
professional development training to improve employees’ skills and abilities to
achieve the agency’s mission.

RMR TECHNOLOGY GROUP SOLUTIONS FOR THE FTA
RMR Technology Group is providing Sub Contracting support to a nationally recognized
management consulting and professional services firm. RMR delivers customized Human
Capital, Knowledge Management, Training Design, Development and, Organizational
Assessment and Implementation professional services that drive transformative and

To address FTA’s challenges, RMR focused on four areas: People – Staff accountability,role
and responsibility alignment; Process – Need for standard operating procedures,
governance and accountability policies, and center of excellence guidelines; Strategy –
Requirement for an agency-wide integrated learning and knowledge strategic plan; and
Technology – Enhanced utilization of the Learning Management Solutionand focused

environmental scans, gap analysis, findings and recommendations
• Strategic Training Plan: external and internal audit, SWOT analysis, annualobjectives
