Community Engagement In Tampa Bay
Tech Data and its nearly 1,600 employees in the Tampa Bay area are actively involved with many local
charities, non-profit organizations and other volunteer activities that work to better the community.
Tech Data is a corporate sponsor of the United Way and was selected to receive the United Way's
2007 Spirit of Tampa Bay Award.
Tech Data’s last annual United Way campaign generated $233,500 in employee donations.
Tech Data’s annual Charity Golf Tournaments have raised more than $100,000 for the Tampa Bay area chapter
of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the last two years.
Tech Data donated $100,000 to Haiti earthquake relief efforts.
Tech Data is an active participant in Habitat for Humanity, currently sponsoring the construction of a house in
the Tampa Bay area.
When Tech Data hosts its Books are Fun Book Fair, Junior Achievement receives 10 percent of the proceeds.
The company also sponsors the Junior Achievement Hallo-Bowl.
Tech Data is actively engaged with Big Brothers Big Sisters through active mentorships as well fundraising. We
are currently recruiting employees for our 2nd Annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Virtual Bowl-a-Thon.
Tech Data is actively engaged throughout the year with the American Cancer Society and has helped sponsor
the Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Tech Data also has a charitable contributions committee that donates to dozens of charitable interests
supported by employees.
Tech Data encourages and recognizes employees for their community engagement through an annual
Volunteer of the Year Award.
