WHAT TYPE OF POLLUTION
AFFECTS MY CITY?
 Mainly contamination affects my city is
environmental air pollution, due to a wide variety of
contaminants: total suspended particles, such as
lead , carbon monoxide, sulphur oxides, nitrogen

oxides, hydrocarbons, ozone and other
photochemical oxidants.
The emissions produced by traffic.
WHAT IS CAUSING/HAS CAUSED THE
POLLUTION?
 Largely to motor vehicle traffic , emissions from some

companies and has caused 38.000 deaths, etc…
Emissions produced by factories
and companies.
WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS HAS
THE POLLUTION CAUSED?
 Losses direct or indirect effects on human health , livestock and

plants.
Corrosion losses of materials and their protective coatings.
Losses maintenance costs of buildings and depreciation of exposed
objects and goods.
Direct expenditure by the application of techniques to remove or
reduce the smoke and fumes from factories measures.
Indirect losses due to higher transport costs in time contaminated
mist or electricity by turning on the lights before the scheduled
time.
Expenses related to the administrative organization of the figh
against pollution.
Cost of research aimed at combating pollution.
Rates in cleaning buildings,
structural damage due to
corrosion, etc ...
WHAT CAN BE DONE TO IMPROVE
THE POLLUTION PROBLEM?
 Legislative measures air quality standards .
 Urban and regional planning .
 Reducing the generation of pollutants .
 Control of pollution sources:

a) Control of the emissions of particles(settling chambers
, inertial separators , wet purification , filtration and
electrostatic precipitation).
b) Control of gaseous emissions (combustion or
absorption).
Environmental Laws, Car cleaner,
parks, etc ...
