Camera shots, angles and transitions
1.
2. This is a low angle medium shot, are also know
within our music video as the ‘Hollywood’ shot
because this is the main shot in which we use
throughout the video.
This is a low angle shot the emphasise power
because a low angle shot makes the actor
within the shot look powerful because of the
shot looking up to them.
We used this because the actor in the video
only feels powerful when he is singing because
any other time he feels sad and lonely and
depressed but it makes him feel good and
separate from the world around him when he
is singing.
3. This is a long shot, this is a commonly used
shot within our video because it’s a good shot
to use to set a scene for that point within the
film.
Every shot like this one tells part of the story
which we are trying to portray within our music
video.
As said above, we have used this shot to set
the scene for this section of this video, this
shows that the actor within the video is lonely,
and slightly lost within the way he is looking
out into the open.
4. This is a close up shot which is used to show
features and emphasise and particular person
or place.
In our video we have used this shot to show
expression on this actors face. You cant see it
very well in this picture to the left, but we used
the shot to show the sadness and depression
on the characters face whilst she is putting on
her make up.
She is trying to brighten up her appearance to
hide the way she feels from others by changing
the way her face looks.
5. This is a fade to white transition shot. This is
the most common transition used within out
music video, along with fade to black because
it is a quick and smooth transition between
different video clips.
As you can see from the image, just as the
camera comes round and the sun shines
through and you can see the sun glare we
started the fade to white to bring in the next
scene in the video.
We used this transition mostly because its easy
to put it and simple but can be very effective
when used correctly.
