1. Define Cell : The smallest
structural and functional unit
of an organism, which is
typically microscopic and
consists of cytoplasm and a
nucleus enclosed in a
membrane.
Questions :
1. What is the functional and
structural unit of life ?

2. Types of Cells : The Cells can be
classified into two types on the basis of the
membrane present in Nucleus or not.
These are –
(i) Prokaryotic Cells : Those cells which
have no nuclear membrane is called as
Prokaryotic cells.
e.g., Bacteria, Some Protozoa etc.
(ii) Eukaryotic Cells : Those Cells which
have definite nuclear membrane is called
Eukaryotic Cells.
e.g., Tiger, Elephant, Human beings etc.
Questions :
1. Cells can be classified into how many
types?
2. Define Prokaryotic Cells.
3. What is the difference between
Prokaryotic cells and Eukaryotic Cells.
