1. Evaluation
How did you use media technologies in the construction
and research, planning and evaluation stages?
2. Planning and
Research
In this stage of the whole production I used online software such as Prezi to help
draw up things such as contingency plans as well as to put together data that I
had discovered about different video theorists. Through using prezi I was able to
keep all of my information in one easily accessible place which lead me to be
able to access it from anywhere within the school and made life easier when it
came to uploading it to the blogs as the Prezi’s are stored on a cloud drive that
can be accessed from multiple technological stations, making the transport of
information quick and easy.
3. Research and Planning
Whilst conducting research into our target audience I used what is known as a
Flip Cam to record a rotating shot around both a male and female version of my
target audience to create a target audience profile. This enabled me to have key
information about the target audience pop up around the individual as the
camera rotates them. This proved as a much more interesting way to present this
information rather that having in on a slide show as I had done for the character
profile of both of the artists used. To create the whole animation that can be
found on my blog I used a programme known as Adobe Premier Pro to string it
all together and create the video.
4. Construction
In the construction stage of my project, Adobe Premier Pro was heavily used for
the compilation of all the raw material (Filed on a DSLR) into one sequence of
footage. The programme enabled me to create transitions between shots as well
as overcoming an obstacle that we faced as a group. Due to the to individuals
busy schedules we were unable to film them on the same day and failed to
obtain a shot of them together within the same space as each other, as a result of
this we was unable to show them interacting with each other as to artists of the
opposite sex which would have given us grounds to play with conventions even
more. However, to make up for the Premier Pro allowed us to create a split
screen that allowed us to present the two of them on screen at the same time as if
there were with each other.
5. Construction
In terms of our ancillary tasks we thought it was best to create the magazine
advert on Adobe Photoshop. This allowed us to manipulate the images heavily,
which enabled us to do things such enhance the girls make up and jewellery in
order to put emphasis on the typical conventions of the genre itself. We decided
from this that we would then edit our primary images on Photoshop and then
add them t the digi pack template on Adobe InDesign. After editing we were
able to just drag and drop the images into InDesign in order to create the digi
pack. As a group we decided that it would be more fitting to create the digi pack
in InDesign as it is more appropriate in terms of measurements etc.
