• A simple definition a person, place or a thing
• For example
• Person: man, woman, teacher, John, Rachel
• Place: Home, Office, Town, America
• Thing: Table, Car, Banana

• Subject of verb: Doctors work hard.
• Object of verb: He likes coffee.
• Subject and Object of verb: Teachers teach students.
• But the subject or object is not always noun.

COMMON NOUN
• It refers to the common name of a person,
place, or a thing in general
• For example: city, man, table etc.
PROPER NOUN
• It refers to the specific name of a person,
place, or a thing
• For example: Lahore, Akhtar, Iftikhar
6. COUNTABLE NOUN
• That can be counted
• For example, dollars, litre, oranges
• You cannot count uncountable noun
• For example, rice, electricity, sand
UNCOUNTABLE NOUN
7. CONCRETE NOUN
• Concrete nouns are physical things you
can touch
• For example, man, car, furniture,
mobile phone etc.
ABSTRACT NOUN
• Abstract noun are things that cannot be
touched
• For example, strength, truth, happiness
etc.
8. COMPOUND NOUN
• Made up of two or more words
• Most compound noun are [noun + noun] or
[adjective + noun]
• For example, Bus stop, football, toothbrush etc.
COLLECTIVE NOUN
• A collective noun represents a collection of
individuals, or something
• For example, a team, a crew, a family etc.
