Divine greetingstoall gatheredsouls.Today’sprogrambeginswiththe tale of 7 kingdoms.During
ancienttimes,there were these 7small islands.Norelationsexistedbetweenthem.Theyall hadtheir
ownmethodsof worshipandconductingbusiness.Theywere all happywhile beingunaware of the
other.Theyhad noideaof the other’sexistence.Asthe meansof travel improved,the 7placescame to
knowof one anotherandthereinbegantradingwithone another.
As theycame close incontact withone another,conflictoverreligionbegan.Notionsweredistinct.7of
the islandsboastedbelieversof Godbuttheirfaithswere distinct.Warthenbroke outbetweenthem.
Theyattackedone another.A saintfroma hill nearby stoodobservingall this.He notedthe fightwas
aboutbelieversvs.believers.He thendecidedtoestablishpeace betweenthem.
Theywere all humanswhoforgothumanity.The saintthenmetall the islandkings.He saidto them,
“You all live onearth.Considerthe earththentobe yourGod or universal energy.Thenall the methods
of worshipwill become one.” The kingsagreedandimplementedthe ideaandpeace prevailed.
Thisis nota tale.Gurudevisgivingamessage.Observe ourhumanculture.Observe ourmodernculture.
It isa systematicprogressstemmingfromthousandsof years. Those figureswhoemptiedthemselves
(individualisticidentity) mergedwithnature.Peoplethenworshippedthemthoughtheyconsidered
themselvessaints.
It’slike howwe saythe tap isrunning(inHindi) whenitisthe waterthatis running. We lookat external
covers.All saintsspoke fromtheirexperiencesandnotfrombooks.People didn’theedtheirobjectives.
What’sthe objective of religion?All religionshave one purpose- awakeningone’sinnerself orthe soul
element.Itwastomake you humanand awakenyourhumanity.Butthisgoal wascast aside.Instead,
people clingtothe ritualsof these differentmethodologies.
Today we are at a stage of interdependencytothe pointthatif somethinghappensinAfghanistan,the
price of chilliesinMaharashtragoesup.In the last 15 years,there hasbeengreattechnological
progress.Througha small device suchasa mobile,one cancome togain knowledgeaboutthe worldat
our fingertips.Butwhile we’ve becomesointimatelyaware aboutthe worldoutsideof us,we needjust
as much to become aware of innerprogresssimultaneously.
So justlike inthe storymentionedhere earlier,overthe last800 years,Himalayansaintswere also
observingreligion.Theytoonotedthe purpose of religionwastoawakenone’sinnerhumanity.What
thenwas the one thingto bindall humans? Religionsare the cause of all conflicts.Theymeditatedover
the matter deeplyandthenfoundaway.
2. By sayingsmokingisbadfor you,noinnerchange is occurring.I wasgiventhe followingmethodto
impartas thiswas distinct.While usingexternal methodstoawakenyourinnerself,yourwholelife goes
by.The same cannot be saidfor an innerawakening. Thismethodisbasedonepiphaniesandthe
inculcationof a meditatingtrait.Mygurussaid,“We transferthisknowledge toyou.Become aconduit
for the universal energies.Whenthe soul gainsthe experience,theywill realize thateveryoneis human.
Thisshouldbe impartedforfree.”
Andnowit isavailable forfree globally.Everyone getsthe same experience regardlessof theirreligion.
All barriersare brokenregardlessof country,religion,genderetc.Youwill realize youare human.There
are no dos and don’tswithfollowingthismeditation.
If I gethungup on people notdrinking,10% of the people here will leave.If Isaythose whoeatnon-veg
shouldnottry thismeditation,afurther10% will leave.If Isaythose wholie shouldn’ttrythis,this
whole fieldwillbe emptybecause everyone will leave.
There’sa difference betweenhavingtodosomethingandsomethinghappening because one’sinner
knowledge isbeingawakened.Sothe soul graduallyrulesoverthe body.Thenyou’llprogress
automatically.
There wasa followerwhovisitedme atmy residence inBabaDhamwhotoldme abouthe usedto sell
sockson the streetsand nowhe ownsa factory. He came there fora special blessingceremonyforhis
car. But I say, don’tgive youreconomicprogressthiskindof importance.Thisisbecause youare linked
withthe progressof a collectivityof all those whoare alreadydoingwell.Soit’snotyourprogress.It’s
the collectivity’s.It’slike if eventhe 4th
horse whichis part of a buggyturnsout to be lazy,the other
three horseswill certainlymake himrun. Thisisalsoprogressingonthe bodily(ormaterial) level.
That’s nottrue progress.If yourhealthimprovesintowellness,it’sbecausethe collectivityishighon
wellness.There isan economicallyprogressive collectivity.Hence,youare blessedwithittoo. Years
earlier,we didamegaworkshopseriesonRace Course Road inRajkotfor 8 days.Atthe time,we’dset
up a medical campwhere we wouldbe checkingthe bloodpressurelevels of those whohadissuesin
the beginningandthenwouldobservewere atthe endof the series.85% of those whoclaimedtohave
bloodpressure issuessawmarkedlevelsof improvementatthe end.Now withthe blaringlightsof the
stage,I couldn’tsee any of these bloodpressure patients.Theysaw these improvementsbecausethey
were amidst80 000 people whowere thoughtfree duringthose 8days for2 hourseach. Therefore,
these patientsgotthe benefitof this. It’slikewise aboutfaringhighoneconomicprosperity becauseof
the collectivity.
You’re usingthismeditationforprogressinginyourouterrealms.Workonyour innerself.Thenfocusing
on the outerrealms won’tbe necessary.Forthe last22 years,I’ve beenmeetingpeople butyetIam
withinmy ownspace.So staywithinyourself sothatthe outerworld doesn’taffectyou.If yourspiritual
state is good,thenautomaticallythingswill fall intoplace.Youwon’tneedto“fix”anything.Ineverdid
anythingwithexpectations.YetIhave beenaroundthe worldoverinthe last 22 years.How have I done
so? People ask.
Duringmy 45 daysof anushthan(A spiritual ceremonywithafixedaim.Inthispursuit,Swamiji spends
these daysinisolation wherebyhe infuseshissubtle energiesintodifferentenergystatueseachyear),I
am withmy gurus(onan energeticplane).AndIdistribute the energyIgainfromthese 45 days for the
3. remaining320 days of the year.Even if a followerleavesbehindtheirmeditation,agurushouldnever
do so.Indiahas over2 900 000 gurus.So if some of themshouldbe duds,itdoesn’tmeanthatall of
themare bad.Because that’slike sayingthatif we hearabout one railwayaccidentthatall railway
servicesare bador one shouldn’tclimbontoa railwaytrain. If one unethical doctorrobsa personof
theirkidney,doesthatmake all doctorsbad?Thisis all yournegative perception.
If 100 yearsfrom now,people readthe newspapersof today,theywillthinkall gurusare frauds.There’s
a place in Indiawhere on26 January(India’sRepublicDay),people canreadpapersfromthe periodthat
Nehru(India’sfirstprime minister) wasinjail orconfined inaplace calledAhmednagarFort.Duringthis
time,youcan getan ideaof the thingsthat were topical then.Likewise,dosomethingsopeopleinthe
future will thinkthattheirancestorswere good.
If you don’tcontinuouslypolishabrassitem, of course,it’sgoingtolose itsshine.The same holdstrue
for guruswhose downfallshave occurredbecause theylive insocietyand theyhave leftbehindtheir
meditation.Inthe Himalayas,nosuchproblemsexist.Infact,inthe Himalayas,peopleare categorized
intotwo lots.You’re eitherof the mountainsorthe fields (i.e.the lotthatdwellsinsocietyatlarge).
(There’snofurthersub-categorizationof those inthe fieldsnomatterhow evolvedtheymayhave
become because asit’sif societyatlarge is like acoal mine where we’re invitingourselvestobe dirty)
Whateverbrilliantexperience yougetona givenday,itwill notbe soeveryday.Butyoumust keep
meditating.Actwithoutexpectations.Thisanushthan,don’tkeepanyexpectationsfor45 days. See for
yourself.Don’tkeepevenalittle expectationaboutmeditation.Meditationisnotyourservant.
Expectationsare linked withthe body.
In Sydney,Ispoke withsome followersaboutwhytheywatcha soccermatch. Was there somethinginit
for them?Isaid to them“Will yourdaughterbe gettingmarriedasan outcome of youwatchingthis
match? Or will yoursongeta jobas a resultof you watchingthis?” Theyanswered,“No.We dothisfor
fun.” I toldthemthat the same goesformeditation. Doitforfun.
Why are milkingmeditationforwhatyoufeel it’sworthasif to getsomethingoutof it?Meditate
withoutexpectations. Evenone expectationimpurifiesthe processof yourmeditation.Meditationis
whenwe connectwithuniversal energy.Anduniversalenergyholdsnoexpectations.Whetheryougeta
meditative state ornot,continue meditating.The purpose of yourmeditating istojoinyoursoul with
universal energy.Yetyouholdexpectations.
My pure wishisthat youreach greatheightsbutyoucan’t do so till youleave expectationsbehind.
SometimesItalkof universality.Irrespectiveof whichreligionyou’ve beenborn into,progressfurther
withinthe realmsof thatreligionsothateventuallyyoumayleave itbehindasyouspirituallyprogress.
Religionisastaircase. Don’tsiton the stairs. You may have heardof people sayingtowalkthe pathof
religionasopposed tostayingstationedinaspotforreligion.Spiritualitybeginswhere the staircase
ends.Soit’sirrelevantfromwhichsetof stairsyouclimbedtothat spot.
It’slike youmaytake a train,planor bus to reach Goa. It doesn’tmatterhow youreachedthere butthat
youdid reachthere.All pathsleadtoGod. How doesn’tmatter.The saintschose astraight-forward
path.
Throughthe instillingof the traitof samarpanmeditation,Iama human.All barrierscease throughthe
commonexperience derivedfrom thismeditation.Igoto differentcountriesandteachthismeditation.
4. In fact,I taught thismeditationtopeopleinArabnations.Whendoingso,afollowerfromAhmedabad
messagedme “Whyare youputtingyourhand inthe mouthof a lion? I respondedthatIam the same
everywhere.Ithereinsentthe photoof the Arabfollowersmeditating. Soyousee,thisgenre of
meditationisuniversal.Youcan be withinthe realmsof yourreligionandyetbe respectfulof others
religionsorways.
It’slike respectingyourmomandotherpeople’smoms.We all have functionsnomatterwhatour
species.If we were dogs,thenthatfunctionwouldbe torun.Ashumans,our functionistolove
selflessly.Reachthispointwhere you are so.
Lovingwithoutexpectationsisyourintrinsicnature.Universal energywillbegintoflow.These45days is
that opportunitytotrythis.It’s like if takingaparticularpill suitsyou,continue takingit.Sotry notkeep
expectationsforthese 45days.Builduponanypositive experiencesyouget.
Don’tshirkopportunitiesforgettingtogetherwithcollectivity.Notethe goodchangesyouexperience
uponattendingthese events.Peopleare linkedwithme viathe internetandnotjustviaall yourphysical
presence here.As youmeditate,you’ll experience yourhumanness.You’llnote apositive change will
follow.
Once whenI wasstayingat a resortinMumbai,I was meditatingunderatree there whenanIT
companyheadpassedme by andthenwe spoke aboutmeditationand thenhe trieditout.He later
remarkedhowhe’dbeenworkingonfixingaproblemformonthsbutcouldn’tcome upwiththe answer.
Yet within2hours,he hada solution. Sohe askedwhywasthis? I toldhimyou weren’tjustmeditating
withme.You were inthe presence of hundredsof thousands(asthe consequence of the energetic
linkingthatfollowersshare withSwamiji).Sothenapositive outcomehastobe.
The Shirdi megaworkshopisbetweenAprl 23 to 30. Youwear scarvesor hats.Respectthese.Don’tdo
anythingthatis detrimentaltoSamarpanbydoingso. There wasa followerwithaSamarpancap whose
image wascaught inthe cc tv in Shirdi andthat’show theygot a holdof Samarpanfor thisevent.They
toldhimabout theirkeennessforhavingme bysaying“We reallywouldliketohave BabaSwami
conduct a megaworkshopseriesagain.”Theywere soimpressedfromthe lasttime we were therethat
theywishedtohave usbe one of the featuredeventsforthe yearroundcelebrationof Sai Baba’s
(Famoussaintbelongingtothe townof Shirdi) centennial year.
Whenthiscc tvincidenthappened,Iknew straightawaythatthiswasa call fromSai Baba. I knewthis
day wouldcome.Butit took19 years.I’ll tell youhow Iknew.My familywaslivinginthe North-eastof
India.We weren’tlackinganythingandwere livingquitesufficiently.YetIfelta callingtoleave there to
go elsewhere.The headof the RamKrishnamissionthatwasoverthere wonderedwhyIfeltthe needto
do so andkeptpersistingonthis. Issomeone callingyou?Ihad noanswer.Whyare you leaving?Ihad
no answer.Isit a call from above?Iansweredyes.
I thenwentto Nagpur.I dida small workshopthere.Onthe 3rd
or 4th
day,I got a visitationfromSai
Baba. He toldme that a managerwill be comingtomy workshopthe nextdayand he askedme to open
hiscrown energypoint.IwonderedwhySai Babacame to me whenI was nota followerof hisandnever
yearnedforanythingandI communicated(energetically) withmygurusaboutthis. Theyanswered,
“He’smade you a conduitto helphisfollowers.”Sothe nextdaywhenthat managercame,I didas I was
asked.Itappedon hischakras by alonghisspine andthenputmy handon hiscrown. He fell intoecstasy
5. and couldnotopenhiseyes. He had come earlierinthe morningandeven3-4hours later,he wasnot
gettingup.I askedhim,“Didn’tyouhave to go toyour office?” He said,“Office?Ican’topenmy eyes.I
got a great visitationfromSai Baba.”
He was thengettingreadytotouch myfeetas a mark of respect.I toldhim, “Whyare you touchingmy
feet?Doesanyone evertouchthe feetof the postman? Iam merelyamessenger.”Thisworkshopseries
thenended.Ithencontinuedtomeditate inmyhouse andwhenIwouldhave enoughmoneyi nhand,I
wouldgoon to conduct differentworkshops.Ifunctiononthe premise that“I”come with“my” money
and “I” go with“my” money.Soif I didn’thave money,Iwouldn’tdoworkshops.That’swhere Sai Baba
correctedme one day. He told me I wasleavingthe doorof my egoopenwiththisabove statement
aboutcomingwithmy moneyandgoingwithmymoney.
He toldme that if I was to take samarpanmeditationtoa global scale,Ineededtobe receptive of other
people’swishtohelp.He saidthatwhile I shouldn’timposeuponanyone,Ishouldbe willingtoaccept
thingsif people wishedtogive something.It’slike prasad(atokenof foodwhichisofferedbefore Godin
Hinduhomesor temples).Youeatwhat’sofferedtoyouanddon’tfussabout whatyougot. So why
deprive people of the joyof wantingtohelp?SoSai Baba had plantedhisdivine experience wayearlier
on butthe seedshadnotgrownthen. So if he did thisthenthe fruitsof these seedswere goingtocome
out one day.I therefore knewhe wasgoingtocall us one day.But it took19 years. I didn’tdoanything
for this. In22 years,Samarpan reacheda global scale.
I alwaysfeel thatthe volunteers,organizers,districtheadsandtrustees are soimmersedinorganizing
thingsthat meditationfallsbythe wayside.Andthere are followerswhocome fromoverseastothe
ashram evenfor1 day and thenlaterrecounttheirbeautifulexperienceswithmeditation.Yetthose
whoare there the entire time aren’tgettingit.Ifeel sadaboutthisespecially because itiswiththe
effortsof all of these people here thatSamarpanreachedaglobal scale. Ihave said to all of themSai
Baba isgivingyoua great chance here somake the bestof it.You couldneveraskfor a better
opportunity.Throughthis,Iwill give youaspace where the seedwill grow.
Start preparingforgoingto Shirdi.4 monthsare left.Onthe Budh full moonphase,the programwill be
over. (The Budhfull moonisknownas Buddha’sbirthdayandcoincideswiththe full moonphase during
thisperiod).Sometimes,whateverenergyanartisthasgets putintoa statue.Thisworkshopseriesislike
that.
2 yearsago, we’ddone aworkshopseriesinthe Delhi Parliament.21June has beenmarkedas
International YogaDay.I toldthemthat 2 things are necessarytobindone and all.
1. There shouldbe a universal mantrawhichissimple whichthe Samarpanmeditationtraitinculcation
actuallyhas.I passedonto you thismantra basedonhow God guidedme.Sothere are no barriershere.
2. There shouldbe centresgloballyavailablewherepeople of all religionsandcreeds canhave the
opportunitytoleave behindtheiridentificationwiththe bodytherebyalsoleavingone’sproblems
behind(muchlike Samarpandoes). The soul hasnoillnessorproblems. The more the identificationwith
the bodygoesup, the more you’re likelytohave problemsorillnesses.Asyoumerge withyoursoul and
the collectivity,evenif youshouldencounteraproblem, itwill dissipate like afew dropsof inkinan
ocean.You won’tknowwhere yourproblemdisappeared.
6. In Japan,people wouldsaytome that if everythingispredestinedandwe mustbearthe consequences
of ourthoughtsor actions,whydo we needtomeditate these off?There are twotypesof karmas
(thoughtor action). One are karmas fromyour pastlife.Youtherefore will bearthese.The otherare
karmas fromthislife.Whenthe gurufacilitatesself-realization,the karmasof yourpresentlife are
nulled.Sowhatyouare leftwithare yourpast life karmaswhich youneedtobear.Asyou meditate,
once these pastlife karmasare over,you won’thave energytodobad deeds.The guruis a conduitfor
universal energy.Whenwe release ourselvestohim, we releaseourselvestothe collectivity.Youwon’t
knowwhenyourkarmas disappeared.Youwill then be inthe zerostate whenyoudie.There will
therefore be nocause forrebirth.
Once I visitedmyMuslimguruwhowas a mendicant.He livedamidst greatfilthyetone couldsmell the
fragrance of roses.AsI setabout there,he saidtome,“In life,youchoose the firstactionyoutake. If it’s
good,goodsoulswill continuallyhelpyoudogooddeeds. The same holdstrue forwhenyoudo a bad
deed.Destructive soulsfuelandfosteryoutocontinuallydobaddeeds.”Effectively,myguru
emphasizedthateverythingstemsfromthe firststepyoutake whendoingsomething.Soif youhave
nothinggoodor bad to carry forward,all yourkarmas cease.
In Kekdi,Rajasthan,some farmershave sharedsome beautifulexperiences.They have notedhow in
areas whichare extremelybarren,goodharvestsare beingyieldeddue totheirmeditativepractices
there.Thisisremarkablyastonishing.Soasyoucan see,one cansee how essential thismeditative
practice is forfarmers.InGoa, some journalistsaskedme aboutwhetherSamarpancanhelpwith
stoppingfarmersuicide inIndia.
Meditationprovidesone bothinnerandouterprotection. Withinthisrealm, people are boundby
hundredsof thousandsof meditative practitioners whoaren’tattemptingsuicide.Those whoattempt
suicide separate themselvesfromeveryone andgointoisolation.WhereasSamarpanfollowersare
boundby collectivity.Forgetsuicide,noroadaccidentsoccurwiththe protectionthatmeditation
provides.AndSamarpanmeditationyieldsagreatharvest.
Meditationcanalsohelpintransformingthe qualityof waterwithgoodenergy.We are 70% water as
humansand throughour means,we energeticallyalignourselveswiththe waternearusaswe
meditate.If youmeditate uponawell, the goodenergyof meditationwillspreaduponit.Whilst
meditatingonfields,noillnesseswill befall themthereinyieldingagoodharvest.
Take benefitof the advantagesorprivileges youhave whereveryoumaybe. I wentalongthe bordersof
NorthIndiayearsago where one couldn’tsee people.The soldiersthere wouldspeakof how thiswould
make themnervousbecause maybe there weren’tmore than100 people tobe seenamidstgreat
distances.Isaidto them“You are nota prisoner. Youare here by choice.Youcan choose to take a
holidaytogo back and see yourfamily.Take thisexperience of beinginaplace free frompositively.
Himalayansaintslookforsuchplaceswhere people can’tnormallyreach.Inthe Himalayas,there are
placeswhere ahumancan’t be seenfor200 km.”
Nextyearhas beenmade the yearforsecurityforcesinthe Samarpan organization. (Eachyeara theme
ischosenfor Samarpanto focuson and thiscomingyear,more effortswill be made tohelpthose who
are service providersinanyof the securityforceslike police,army,navy,air forces,etc.). Samarpan
meditationcanprovide protectiontopeople servingintheselines.
7. In the U.K. there wasa Britishfollowerwhowasservingthe militaryin Afghanistanwhomentionedthat
he didn’tgetshot as a bulletunexpectedlypassedthroughbecausehe justincidentallybentdowntoget
some coffee. Whatthisillustratesishoweveninthe uncanniestwaysmeditatingcanhelpprotectone
because inthispractice,yougraduallybuildanaura whichdoesthis.Asyoubuildyouraura,you won’t
getattacked externallyasthisexampleshows.
Insecurityisone of the biggestproblemslooming.Roadaccidentsare a greatissue inIndia.Thiscan be
remediedaseach individual whomeditatescreatesanaura toprotect themselvesfromthese. Iwas
visitingaRam KrishnaMissionretreatcentre where peopleaskedme,“Swamiji,youtravel tosomany
countriesandeatall these differentkindsof foodsthere.Don’tyouevergetdiarrheafromthis?”I
replied,“Forgetdiarrhea.The car I travel innevermeetswithanaccident.”Theywere stunnedbutthen
ponderedwhetherIuse the same driveror car whentravellingabroad.Iansweredno.It’sdifferenteach
time because it’s notpossible forsomeone tohave the same car or drivereverywhere one goes.They
were furtherperplexedwhenthe missionheadstatedthatthisispossiblebecausemeditationhelpsone
buildanaura whichprovidesone protectiononvariouslevels.
So throughmeditation,Iamnotprotectingyou.You are buildingyourownaura whichfacilitatesthis. I
am not here tomake youdependentonme.About15 years earlierinthe AhmedabadMedical College,I
spoke aboutthe ideaof an aura. I spoke abouthow one coulddiagnose illnessesbasedonobservation
of the aura as a prospective illnesscanbe seeninsomeone’saura6 monthsbefore itactuallymanifests
inthe body. (Thisisthe time lag betweendetectinganillnessinthe auraand in a person’sbody) Atthe
time,Iwas dismissedby the doctors.Lateron,however,the use of machinestodetectanaura became
much more prominent.
An aura can’t be soldinstores.Neithercanitbe made instantly.If youmeditate,the positiveattributes
that yourancestorshad predating7 generationscanbe enhancedwithinyoubecause theseexistinyou.
But theyneedtohave the opportunitytobe nurtured. These attributesstaydormantinside you.
You cleanyourbodyby takinga bath. But whowill purifythe soul?That’swhat meditationdoes.
SometimesyoumaygetconfusedbywhatIsay. Moneywill come toyou onits own.Justfix your
spiritual state. Sometimes,it’sgoodtoengage infixedmonthlypledgesasamethodof engagingin
publicoutreachaboutSamarpanmeditation. We needtoaccommodate all kindsof people. Maybe
someone hearsaboutSamarpanandtheyare veryintellect-drivenpeople. Soa donationof even100 rs
a monthby thembecomesameansby whichto engage themwithSamarpan.
So I encourage people toasktheirlovedoneswhomaybe like thattohave themdonate 100 rs a month
for even6 monthsratherthan 600 rs at one time.Because as6 monthspass,change may nothappenat
the bodylevel butatleastthe personisjoiningthroughmoneybecause eventuallyacuriositywillbe
arousedinthe person.What’sthere to Samarpan?People whowouldnotnormallyjoinmaythendoso.
Thisis because theirattentionwill be placedonSamarpanfor6 monthsbecause theywill wonderwhat
theyare givingto.Donationsisbut a methodbywhichto bondone withSamarpan.
Samarpanmeditationshouldreacheveryone orbe accessibletoall.We justuse simple wordswhichare
