Mahashibir day 6 notes
1. Mahashibir Day 6: Mahashivir - 2020 | Day 6 - The Way of Prosperous Living | सफल जीवन - YouTube
Disclaimer: These notes are not a direct translation of the Shibir. These are just my personal notes that
I am sharing in the hopes that they will be useful for someone in some capacity as a reminder. But,
they are no substitute for the original videos with Swamiji’s vibrations and energies. Pease take some
time to rewatch the original videos on the Gurutattva youtube channel if possible.
• It is difficult to reach the top of the Himalayas until your mind is filled with positive thoughts.
Hence it is important to fill our minds with positive thoughts so that there is no space left for
negative thoughts.
• Don’t leave your mind empty. As the saying goes “An empty mind is the Devil’s workshop.” If
you leave it empty then, negative thoughts from all over the world will come and settle in
there.
• Story of the girl who used to come and sit next to Gurudev. She said that she sits on the seat
next to Gurudev because she gets the choice whom she gets to sit next to. She can only get that
choice when she sits next to Gurudev. If she sits on an empty sit, then anyone could come and
sit next to her. So this was her choice.
• Hence, never keep your mind empty. Where you kept it empty, some negative thought or the
other will come and sit there. Having positive thoughts is your choice, whom you sit next to is
your choice. And if you fill it with a good choice, then bad people and incidents will not come
next to you.
• This year is your choice. Fill yourself with meditation and Dhyan, else from next year a lot of
negative thoughts will come in and fill in. Because the environment around you will be just like
this, filled with tension, and as soon as you leave your mind empty, they will come in and sit
next to you.
• So choose the seat which is comfortable for you to sit on. Never leave an empty space. As
soon as you leave an empty space, these negative thoughts will come and find their way in.
• If you get these negative thoughts, about suicide, become alert instantly. Everyone gets such a
thought at least once in their lifetime, but if you don’t become alert, these thoughts will recur
and inspire you for suicide. These suicides also happen within a fixed time in a person’s life,
usually in youth, but if you fill this time and space with positive things and Dhyan/meditations,
then there will be no space for the negativities to enter.
• There are a lot of negative thoughts around in the environment. As soon as you leave the
space within yourself empty, then negative thoughts will enter.
• In life, love yourself. “Aapne aap se prem karo” No one should be more dear to you than
yourself. Love yourself. There is a soul within you. Become friends with your soul. Because the
soul will provide guidance and the soul’s guidance will be of your highest good. It will give you
such positive guidance and decision making capacity that no one can even think of.
• So give yourself 30 minutes. Sit with a calm chitta, listen to yourself and talk to yourself. If your
soul becomes your friend, if you form a friendship with your soul, then the soul will give you
support until your last breath. Nothing else is going to give you support until your last breath,
not your wealth, not your relatives and family, not your friends. Only your soul will come along
with you.
2. • Hence never think of yourself as alone as the soul is always with you.
• Guru-karya is a medium through which you can experience the proximity of your Guru. If you
are not able to experience the proximity of your Guru while doing Guru-karya then the Guru-
karya is meaningless. Even sadhaks feel the protection of the Guru-tattva when they do
meditations, guru-karya and so on.
• When we work, we do work at the level of our physical body. We are only able to work
according to the capacity, energy of the physical body. But when we make ourselves empty,
nullify ourselves, then the supreme consciousness starts flowing from our medium, then even
from a common man, an uncommon task somehow happens.
• The physical body of Swamiji is a medium. Do not look at Swamiji’s physical body, clothes, talk,
etc. Experience the proximity of the soul that is sitting inside. Feel the Guru-tattva with that
soul. The blessings of many Himalayan Gurus are linked to it. Through its medium, you can also
obtain those blessings. But it is necessary to go beyond the body and see what you cannot see.
What can be seen, the world is seeing it. But what cannot be see, it can only be experienced.
• Message for the young generation: the coming years are going to be full of a lot of
competition. Everyone has the same resources that you have. What is the extra thing that you
have when it comes to competition, to selection?
• You should have a strong mind, a strong chitta.
• In earlier times, physical strength was of importance. After that came the era of intelligence
which is going on even now. This era is also towards an end with the end of the corona period.
The coming era is the era of mind power (chitta-shakti). The country with the maximum
people with a strong chitta, that nation will be the strongest. It won’t matter as to how many
weapons the country has or how much physical strength one has.
• Your chitta should be strong. The stronger your chitta, the stronger the nation will be.
• In one moment, during an incident, if you get correct guidance, this is also due to the good
deeds of your past life. If you overlook that moment, then everything in the next moment
might be different.
• Education is different, and life is different. It is not necessary that you will use your education
for what you need to do in life. And nothing is more important than your life, certainly not
education. No one should give up their life over education.
• The person who meditates can never commit suicide. Because through meditation, he is
linked to the medium. And the medium is someone to whom lacks of successful people,
people with anubhuti and people with gyan are linked to. So when someone links himself to
such a vast collectivity, he never feels like he is alone. He cannot be alone.
• Next year, it will be extremely important to meditate.
• If a negative thought comes, stop it then and there.
• Story of Ekalaya Payala: We can easily stop the first glass of alcohol. We are at 100% and the
alcohol is at 0%. But after that we are at 90% and the alcohol is at 10%. Finally, we become
weaker than the alcohol and then the alcohol drinks you.
• No one has bought the first glass of alcohol or cigarette. It is the company and people around
you that spoil you. And people of such temperament will come to you only when you leave
some space empty. If you don’t leave any empty space, then they will not come.
• Keep your space filled with positive things, with meditations, with yourself. Fill it so much so
that there should be no space for other people. When your space is so full, then any people
3. with a bad company will not even come near you. Nobody can even put their negative
thoughts into you. No one can put any thought of having alcohol or having a cigarette into
you.
• If you leave any space empty, then someone will come and fill it. So do not leave your seat
empty.
• Many times, we give too much importance to negative thoughts and worship them like Gods.
You keep giving yourself importance, saying things like “I have tension”etc. Instead, you
should start a new jaap: “My mind is so strong that I am attached to Parmatma himself. A part
of Parmatma is within me. I can never get tense. I am always protected by Parmatma. I am
completely protected in my life.”
• Fill your life with such positive thoughts. Then the negative thoughts will not occur to you.
This will bring about a positive change in your life.
• “Jo jo je je vanchila to to te pahil” – After meditation, whatever you wish for, whatever you
think, that will happen and manifest. That is why never let negative thoughts near you.
• If you have a negative thought, then a line of negative people are queuing up behind such
thoughts.
• Doing prachar (spreading awareness) of Samarpan Dhyan gives you an inner happiness (aatma-
aanand). And second, your pipe gets cleaned as consciousness of the living medium flows
through you, whether the person in front of you accepts it or not.
• When we find soul happiness within us, we don’t need external happiness. When we feel peace
within, we don’t need external peace.
• The more we fill ourselves with aatma-shanti and aatma-aanand, then negative thoughts and
negative things will not have any place to come in.
• Human nature is such that his ego gets attached with whatever he does. There is a surya nadi,
Chandra nadi, and Madhya nadi. No matter what work we do, the bhaav of having done the
work (karta-bhaav) creeps in knowlingly or unknowingly in a very subtle manner. That is why a
lot of social workers do a lot of work, but then an ego creeps into them.
• Swamiji also had this experience while doing Guru-karya that is why he used to balance this by
doing work for 6 months and then going into the Himalayas for 6 months.
• The karya spread gradually at first and then gradually. The reason for this is that however did
Dhyan sadhna and meditations and gained anubhuti, and as soon as their Nabhi chakra got
developed, the bhaav that “what I have, everyone should get” also got developed
simultaneously. This bhaav is the indication of the Guru-element.
• The Guru-tattva cannot keep anything to itself. Whatever it gets, it gives. And that bhaav is
evoked as soon as the Nabhi-chakra is developed. Such a person gets linked to the Guru-
element and the quality of the Guru-element awakens within him and he too starts giving.
• Whatever he gets, he gives, he distributes. Because of this, so much of awareness is spreading
all across the world.
• Secondly, no one says that “I have done it”. If they say that “I have done it” then they will tie
the deed to themselves, and the merit of the deed will be tied to them, and if it is tied then
they will have to take birth again to reap the benefits of the good deeds they have done.
• So, the sadhaks do not want the punya (meritorious) karma to be a reason for them to take
birth again. No one wants it.
4. • So, if you also meditate regularly, then your Nabhi chakra will also get developed. And if your
nabhi-chakra gets developed, then you’ll automatically start giving what you have to others.
• Don’t do it. If you do it, it will be through the body. It should happen by itself.
• It will happen through niyamit-dyan sadhna. After connecting with positive energies through
meditations, the effect is felt on every part of our being and we never feel that we are alone.
• Regularly, as you meditate you will get experiences. But no experience in meditation is constant.
They will come and go. Don’t remember them for the next day.
• Secondly, even when big saints and sadhus, when they leave their sadhna, their balance and
state is lost. Just like a brass cup will only shine if you keep polishing it every day. But it will
lose its shine the next day because it will accumulate a lot of dust.
• Similarly, no matter how good your state it, it won’t stay. You need to do your meditations
regularly to keep polishing your glass.
• A lot of Gurus just keep distributing whatever they get. But they don’t deposit, and Swamiji says
that this leads to their account becoming bankrupt. So just like Swamiji does solitary
meditations for 45 days a year
• Message for children: Lean to live every moment positively. Not every day, but every moment
is shaping your future now. If you want your future to be happy, then learn to be happy in the
present; if you are crying today, and you think that your future will be very good, then such a
thing can never happen.
• Every moment of our present life, keeps creating our future. What you are doing in the
present, that only is your future.
• You should utilize every moment of the present properly and take it in the right spirit.
• And second, stay happy, be joyful. If you are in a positive state then only can your future be
positive and joyful. If you are sad and sorrowful in the present then your future will also be
gloomy
• So, your future is in the your hands only. It depends on you, how you want to shape your
future.
• Living in the present, is only dhyan.
• Release all the memories and incidents and surrender them to Gurudev. Just like a child, be
relaxed and leave all your thoughts behind. Be in a state of nirvicharta (thoughtlessness). If
you are thoughtless, then the seat next to you will never be empty. Through thoughtlessness,
Parmatma’s Chaitanya, Parmatma’s Shakti will always be with you.
• Meditation teaches us to stay in the present. And as we learn to stay in the present, then the
energy that we otherwise spend on thinking about the past and future, is saved. And after that
energy is saved, we can collect it and use it for good work.
• When the energy gets stored, then when we do any task, then all the energy gets instilled in
the work. And then the outcome of such work is very positive. Why? Because the work was
done with complete energy.
• The energy in such a state is not just the energy of your body. It is the energy of Parmatma
itself, and it does its own work. And then, work that you cannot even imagine gets done
through your medium. Because your thoughts are limited and according to your knowledge,
but when you remove the ego from within you and then do your tasks, then you don’t do your
tasks, Parmatma’s work gets done through you.
5. • But you should have complete faith in Parmatma. “I am doing Parmatma’s work. I am connected
to Parmatma. He will protect me. This is Parmatma’s work, he will get it done.” This bhaav
should be there within you.
• Only if this feeling comes within you, then only will Yog be realized within you. Yog doesn’t
mean Yogasan. Yog means to feel Parmatma, to feel Parmatma within you. It means to always
have the positive feeling that I am completely protected in Parmatma’s company. I am
completely happy in the presence of Parmatma. There is a need to inculcate such a feeling
(bhaav) within yourself. With such a feeling, you will always stay positive. Such a feeling of
positivity will be needed in the coming days. And so we are training for it in the shibir.
• After learning it, don’t let focus on what is happening around you. Don’t let your chitta go on
what is happening around you, because you can be affected by it.
• But you can practice Dhyan and meditations, and create an aura that is so beautiful, strong and
secure that you can stay protected inside it and also keep the people around you safe.
• Yog has a very large scope.
• Yog is a complete management of your life. And your life will be so glorious, so big and filled
with so much positivity, that you cannot even imagine it. This will be so because, Parmatma’s
energies will be managing your life.
• Three types of devotees: first type with physical problems, second type of devotee with worldly
problems, and third type of devotee with spiritual curiosity and a thirst to reach inner peace and
happiness. All devotees will progress through the three stages gradually.
• Don’t ever keep a seat in your life empty where anyone can come and sit. That will not allow
any thought, any negative energy to come and sit next to us.
