• Worked on Business Plan Initiatives for Retirement Readiness Programs for all employees - looked at options to increase
retirement readiness for all employees to be able to retire at a reasonable age. Worked with vendors with tools to
accommodate these goals.
• Worked on RFP for combining four 401(k) DC 401(k) Plans into one new vendor to bring Continental and United employees
into one 401(k) with over 20 different variable designs.
• Managed the current DB and DC Plan administration and managed the new plan designs for the new 401(k) as well as the
new vendor including design of employer contributions such as matching and direct contributions and other variable options
adopted by unions. These assets included all of the Company’s qualified defined contribution plans (comprised of over $10
billion in assets).
• Worked with Investment Committee and ERISA counsels to identify and finalize fund strategy and auto enrollment features for
new Plan and current Plans.
• Worked with investment advisors and new transition vendor to target plan dates and new implementation for 2016.
• Continued to manage the overall responsibility for the strategy/design and management of all the United
Airlines, Inc. Defined Contribution Plans (DC); Defined Benefit (DB) programs, frozen DB plans, and Pilot Plan. Overall
responsibility for the compliance issues that affect all pension and 401(k) Plans, such as 5500 reporting, internal, external, and
SOX audits, and non-discrimination testing.
• Overall responsibility for employee communications/change management to ensure that employees understand the design
changes that are made within all of the retirement plans
• Managed the coordination with Labor representatives to accommodate union negotiations with innovative plan designs to
adapt to new and current designs • Managed overall retirement vendor relationships
Accomplishments at United Airlines, Inc.:
• Developed Guiding Principles for Retirement Readiness Strategy
• Created tools for retirement readiness and design new plan designs for employees
• Designed a new non-pilot 401(k) Plan and worked on implementation 2015 - 2016
• Designed a new pilot 401(k) Plan, implemented two pilot plans into one plan in 2015
• Froze the Continental Retirement Plan for Management employees and moved that population to new 401(k) Plan
• Worked on union negotiations and applied new plan designs into existing 401(k) Plans or DB Plans
• Managed a successful Lump Sum Project Window for DB Plan thereby saving the company employer premiums to the PBGC
• Managed multiple DB and DC plan designs within several subsidiaries
• Fiduciary and member of the Administrative Committee

• 401(k) redesign in 2009, including brokerage accounts, custom target date funds, in-kind transfer of original funds to
brokerage account; new default fund; auto-contribution and rebalance features;
• Spin-off and freeze of pilot pension plan from rest of company DB plan;
• Multi-year pilot pension plan audit and statement projects;
• Spin-off of pilot 401(k) plan from rest of company plan; Roth implementation; Airline funding relief and liquidity shortfall
handling;
• IRS multi-year audits and correction projects;
• Early Retirement Windows and Early Out programs;
• Managed all compliance activities including 5500s for all Plans, Age 59 1/2 withdrawal amendments and process
implementation; Delinquent loan compliance; QDRO project administration; QNEC analysis annually; Beneficiary designation
project; DOL response handling;
• SPD projects for all 401(k) and pension plans.
• Fiduciary and member of the Administrative Committee for appeals that are made to pension and 401(k) Plans.
