Why These Services Are Needed
You are concerned with your bottom line which is
direct function of your cost
Cost is direct function of your performances
Following questions reveal need for robust costing and
controlling framework
 Does your present data mechanism allow you to
correlate performance with cost?
 Does your existing system give you triggers for
cost control?
 Are you sure about inclusion of all costs into your
products, scientifically?
 Do you feel need for meaningful data for decision
making?
 What do you think is more dangerous – Known
cost leakage or a hidden one?

Development of Method to arrive at Machine Hour
Rate in Tool room of Bosch Ltd. Nasik
Project Brief
 Exercise done for 63 machines
 Total cost with respect to machine was classified into direct
machine related cost & indirect cost
 All non monitory information about resources are compiled for
each machine & expressed in monitory terms
 Indirect expenses are allocated based on suitable basis of
allocation to each machine
Result
 Quick & accurate machine hour rates computed scientifically
 Flexible architecture of template to accommodate changes in
assumptions or variables
 Reconciliation with P&L account
Testimony
 Adopted as bench mark practice in other tool rooms of Bosch
 Employees from other Bosch Plants are trained to operate this
model
Material Cost Optimization Project at Dynamic Prestress Pvt. Ltd
Project Brief
 For manufacturing of center plate, type of material which can be possibly
used is either cast steel or mild steel
 Working methodology to determine differential cost, is missing
 It’s observed that owing to the lower rate per kg, Mild Steel is being
dominantly used, despite extra cost of processing
 From drawings & discussion with engineer, the extra material to be removed
in M.S. is determined
 Extra time required to remove the material in case of M.S. is invariably found
to be the excess tool travel time
 Representative geometric diagrams to find out the path across which tool
travels, are drawn
 From these diagrams, a ready made formula to determine the tool travel time
is determined
 A database of theoretically calculated differential time for all the sizes of
material, is prepared for ready reference
 When user enters dimensions & choose the machine, differential time &
hence differential cost will be automatically calculated
Result
 Average monthly cost reduction computed based on present level of
operation, is 1,00,000 INR. This is perpetual saving
 144 Hours of extra production capacity is released per month equivalent to
an additional profit margin of 1,000,000 INR per month perpetually.
Optimization of CO functionality in SAP at Bajajsons Ltd
 Flaws & voids in functional logic defined at the time of
implementation partners are brought on surface
 Resulted in waiver of support fees to the tune of 1.2 MINR.

Conceptualized, designed, developed &
maintained Department wise expense report
Project Brief
 Target is set in respect of each expense head for each
functional department
 Cost center structure is designed to represent each
department
 Actual expenses booked against each cost center are
monitored each month
 Comparison of YTD status with pro rata target for each
department
Result
 Quick reference to cost performance of departments is
available online
 Participative involvement by all the departments in cost
control
 Culture of cost consciousness is inculcated across the
plant
 Resulted in tangible & measurable control on cost even
beyond shop floor
Testimony
 Model is rolled over in other plants located across India
 Model has been made dynamically available online
through BI tools
 Appreciation by FICCI in the form of an award
