15. Procedure for Applying
• Submit – applications / project proposal ONLINE
• Proposal assessed by the Research Bodies with
a certificate
• Downloaded 3 copies of the filled Proforma duly
forwarded by Principal (brought at the time of
interface meeting).
• It must be original in ideation & content, free
from any form of plagiarism. (third-party
similarity check by UGC).
16. Procedure of Approval
• Proposals (Online and downloaded) -
assessed by subject experts.
• Based on the experts recommendations
the short listed
• PI of short listed project invited for defence
before committee.
17. Procedure for Release of Grants
• First installment 100% (Non–Recurring)
including Overhead Charges, and
• 50% of the total Recurring grant
• Released to the Principal of the College.
• Spent according to the approved
heads/items within the approved allocation
mentioned in sanction letter.
• Remaining Grant will be released on the
basis of the mid-term evaluation
18. Monitoring and Evaluation
• Progress report through Online (1.5Y)
• Assessed by the Reviewers
• Continuance – decided - reviewers report.
• After tenure PI’s should arrange final
evaluation within the College by two external
experts,
• Then the College should forward the
completion documents along with expert
committee report in the prescribed Proforma.
19. Final Report and Settlement of
Grants
• Uploaded on the Scheme Portal
• Mandatory to post the final report & executive summary,
research documents, monographs, academic papers
published under project on the website of the College.
• PI settle the accounts immediately
• Balance grant utilize within 6 month other wise lapse
• Year-wise statement – salary.
• Audit statement of expenditure and utilization certificate
• Unutilized grant - refunded - RTGS / Online
20. Cancellation Policy
• If grant is not utilised for the purpose which
it has been sanctioned or
• UGC rules have not been followed for
utilising the funds.
21. General Rules for Operation of the
Scheme: As per UGC Guidelines
• Proposal submitted online – after
screening PI may be invited for
presentation.
• Selected PI will be posted on the UGC
website. PI should check & send
acceptance immediately.

25. Eligibility
• Institution under Section 2 (f) and 12 B of the
UGC Act, 1956
• Up to Rs. 5 Crores
• With a national network of CoI from a minimum
of 2-4 institutions / organizations
• Max. limit investigators within an institution
among different departments/disciplines in
identified thrust areas will be upto Rs. 1 Crore.
• Duration – 5 years
26. Procedure
• PIs/ CIs from eligible institutions
• Forwarded through the Head of the PI institution
– the core facilities are available and will be provided
– the department/ institute will discharge all its
obligations
• Must be original in ideation and content, free
from any form of plagiarism

27. Pre-proposal option
• May choose to submit a pre-proposal briefly
explaining concept, objectives, methodology
and outcomes
• Successful pre-proposal - invited to DPR.

• PIs - submit LoI in prescribed format and DPR

CIs of shortlisted.
