1. INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH
Applications are invited for the following temporary posts in the ICMR Ad-hoc research
project entitled, ‘Implementation and management of the activities under India – Africa
Health Sciences Platform (Secretariat)’ in the Division of International Health.
Post No. I
Scientist ‘C’ (Non Medical) – One (Gen.)
Monthly consolidated emoluments – Rs. 51,000/- p.m. + HRA under the existing ICMR
rules for staff engaged in Ad-hoc research projects/schemes.
Essential Qualification:
• First Class Master’s degree in Life Sciences/ Zoology/ Genetics/ Biotechnology/
Microbiology from a recognized University
Or
2nd
Class M.Sc. in above subjects + Ph.D. degree in one of the above subjects
from a recognized University.
• Four years R&D experience in relevant areas in recognized institute(s) after
obtaining essential qualification.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in related subject from a recognized University for candidates with first
class Master’s Degree.
• Additional Post doctoral research experience in relevant subjects in recognized
Institute(s).
• Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/Data
Management.
• Experience in handling International Collaboration.

Job Requirement for the project:
The incumbent is expected to assist in providing technical & scientific support for
management of IAHS platform. Scientific expertise to also manage the other ongoing
international programmes at IHD.

Computer Programmer – One (OBC)
Monthly consolidated emoluments– Rs. 32,500/- p.m. under the existing ICMR rules for
staff engaged in Ad-hoc research projects/schemes.
2. Essential Qualification:
• Master’s degree in Computer Application, Information Technology, Computer
Science from a recognized University
Or
• B.E./B. Tech. in Computer Engineering, IT from a recognized University with two
years experience in relevant areas of programming or information system in a
Govt. or autonomous, PSU recognized organization
Desirable Qualifications:
• Relevant work experience in handling and maintaining database, application,
programming etc.
• Experience in development of website and its administration.
• Experience in working on related medical/biomedical/health research project and
online project submission.

• Not exceeding 35 years
Job Requirement
The incumbent is expected to assist in developing, maintaining online database &
analysis of International Collaborative projects/ Programmes.
Post No. III
Project Assistant -One (Gen.)
Monthly consolidated emoluments – Rs. 31,000/- p.m. under the existing ICMR rules for
staff engaged in Ad-hoc research projects/schemes.
Essential Qualification:
• Graduate in Science/ relevant subjects/ from a recognized university with three
years work experience from a recognized institution

• Master’s degree in the relevant subject
Desirable Qualifications:
• Relevant work experience in handling and maintaining database.
• Experience in working on related International Collaborative health research
projects.

• Not exceeding 30 years
Job Requirement:
• The incumbent is expected to provide technical assistance to run the various
activities under the IAHS programme.
• Assist in maintaining database/analysis of international projects/ programmes.
3. Post No. IV
Data Entry Operator (Grade ‘B’) – One (Gen.)
Monthly consolidated emoluments – Rs. 18,000/- p.m. under the existing ICMR rules for
staff engaged in Ad-hoc research projects/schemes.
Essential Qualification:
• Intermediate or 12th
pass in science stream from recognized board with DOEACC
‘A’ level from a recognized institute and/or 2 years experience in EDP work in
Government, Autonomous PSU or any other recognized organization.
• A speed test of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour through speed test
on computer.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Knowledge of English Shorthand & Hindi Typing (Minimum 1 year experience in
the relevant field)

• Not exceeding 28 years
Job requirement:
The incumbent is expected to assist in the data entry during the duration of the
programme and various activities of the IAHS platform.
Job requirement of the project:
1. To facilitate the coordination of joint activities under the India Africa Health
Sciences programme.
2. To facilitate the Call for Proposals and processing of the joint projects
submitted under the India Africa programme.
3. To organize meetings of the Joint Working Group/Expert working Group under
the above programme.
4. To co-ordinate the organization of seminars/meetings/Workshops.
5. To facilitate exchange visits of senior scientists and young investigators under
the programme.
6. To provide support to various other activities initiated under the ICMR-African
Union MoU.
7. To prepare regular updates on the joint activities/projects and highlighting
outcomes of the programme.
8. To update status/activities on the ICMR website related to the above
programme.
9. To develop periodic documents on overview of the activities/progress made
under the programme.
10. Any job assigned by Director General, ICMR.
4. General Information and Terms & Conditions for the above posts are as follows:
1. Since the above posts are purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have
no claim for regular appointment under ICMR or continuation of his/her services
in any other project.
2. The appointment is terminable with one month notice period from either side
without assigning any reason and the tenure would be reviewed annually on the
basis of performance and suitability.
3. Benefits of provident fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc.
are not applicable.
4. Age relaxation for temporary Govt. Servants, SC, ST & OBC candidates as per
Govt. Rules in force. Age relaxation will be considered for deserving candidates
on the recommendation of selection committee.
5. No TA/DA etc. will be given to attend the Interview.
6. Qualification and experience should be from a recognized university /
organization / institution.
7. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification and the decision of the selection
committee will be final.
8. Position may be downgraded in case no suitable/qualified candidate is found.
9. Consolidated salary may be revised as per ICMR/GoI instructions from time to
time.
