Sustainable
psychological well-being
Sustainable
psychological well-being
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is
the clinically recommended treatment for
a range of mood and anxiety disorders.
It is underpinned by extensive research
on the role of behaviour and thoughts
in emotional disorders.
Daisy Retreat offers sustainable
psychological well-being
Daisy Retreat, Bali, is Southeast Asia’s
leading residential psychotherapy
retreat, offering the best available
option for high quality mental health
treatment in the region. We use
intensive Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy (CBT), Cognitive-based
Mindfulness Therapy (CBMT) and Yoga
to treat a wide range of emotional
and anxiety disorders. Founded on the
principles of positive psychology, the
primary focus is not mental illness but
rather attainment of sustainable
psychological well-being. Ultimately
we promote flourishing, not simply
functioning.
Our Retreats provide exclusive, intensive,
healing holidays – the complete
antithesis of the clinical/hospital type
environment that is so often the
norm. In a relaxed, family environment
– surrounded by the warmth and
beauty of Bali – clients are surrounded
by kindness, caring and support 24
hours a day.
Daisy Retreat’s results
with our clients achieve on
average an 85% reduction
in level of depression and a
75% reduction in anxiety
levels after 25 hours CBT
and 15 hours of CBMT/Yoga
(10 day Retreat).

The Daisy
Difference
Family environment
Once you arrive, you will be welcomed
as family – we provide a loving,
supportive environment in a beautiful
villa with panoramic views of the
Indian Ocean. The atmosphere is
totally relaxed and the daily schedule
is flexible. Take a walk, have a swim or
practice Mindfulness in a number of
ways – we tailor our days to suit the
needs of our guests.
Healthy living: meals,
yoga and sunshine
Nutritional meals and dishes from
around the world, using an
abundance of fresh ingredients from
the island, are prepared by Daisy's
amazing Five Star Indonesian Chef.
Our extremely experienced Balinese
Yoga Instructor has trained by, and
worked with, experts from India and
Asia and provides private instruction
to suit all levels of experience. Plus,
the sun and warmth of the Bali
climate are very important to what is
achieved here. The brain responds to
sunlight by releasing serotonin, a
neurotransmitter that is involved in
sleep, mood, memory and other
neurological processes. Just as
darkness stimulates the production of
melatonin which establishes sleep
cycles, serotonin promotes
wakefulness and helps elevate mood.
Relaxation time
The villa’s pool is nestled in the hills
overlooking the Indian Ocean and the
surrounding jungle. The Daisy Villa is
situated within a short distance – yet
completely removed from – many of
Bali’s most famous beaches and
tourist attractions.
I hated being me, but I didn't know how to behave in any other way. I felt
hopeless and change seemed impossible. Intensive CBT sessions helped me
understand how I saw myself, why I was behaving the way I was and what steps
I could to take to accept myself and resist falling into my lifetraps again.
Mindfulness gave me a new-found appreciation for simple things like taking in a
sight, a sound or a smell; just being in a given moment. I feel incredibly lucky to
know Ellie; she’s like a secret I want to tell everyone about!

Why do we
use CBT?
Why Cognitive-based
Mindfulness Therapy
& Meditation
combined with Yoga?
Mindfulness means maintaining a
moment-by-moment awareness of our
thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations
and surrounding environment, tuning
into what we're sensing in the present
moment rather than rehashing the
past or imagining the future – to
improve mental well-being. We
combine daily yoga with this
meditation to lower general state of
arousal, relaxing and quieting the
body. Both are an excellent clinical
adjunctive to CBT.
We practice intensive Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy because it WORKS:
Clinically recommended frontline treatment
for a range of emotional and anxiety
disorders (NICE Guidelines, UK);
Works on the premise that we ‘learn’ to
think and act in ways that cause repeated
troubles in our lives. Our consultants help
our clients to change their behaviours, or
thinking patterns, or both of these;
Measurable positive results.
My wife and I spent 10 days at Daisy
Retreat. I can honestly say that for
myself and my wife, these were 10
of the most well-spent days of our
lives. Ellie’s easy and approachable
manner made it feel more like
talking to an old friend and allowed
us to get comfortable quicker and
address issues more frankly. We
would highly recommend Daisy
Retreat as a great place not just for
therapy, but also to regain balance
and sense of clarity. It is a place of
warm hospitality, friendship, and
tender care.

Our
Therapy Team
Daisy Retreat is proud to have the very best
specialists in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
and Cognitive-based Mindfulness Therapy
on our team.
After being diagnosed with Bipolar
Type II last year, I really believe I
came to Bali to meet Ellie and feel
well again. Ellie has helped me to
understand my illness, her
explanations were far more concise
and accessible than any others I
have received during my past year of
receiving treatment from a variety of
doctors in different countries. I now
understand and realise how and
why I behave as I do, and have been
taught many methods of coping and
behaviour monitoring techniques.
My life is now truly enjoyable again.
She has an amazing gift and if you
are at all in any conflict with
yourself, don't hesitate in contacting
Daisy Retreat. I can honestly say that
Ellie changed my life and in turn,
that of my whole family.
