• Lower border of the body of mandible and a
line extending from the angle of mandible to
the mastoid process.
• Postero-inferiorly :
• Posterior belly of the Digastric and Stylohyoid
muscles.

• It is covered by :

2. Superficial fascia with Platysma muscle
3. Deep fascia containing branches of Facial
nerve and Transverse Cutaneous Cervical
nerve

5. A part of hypoglossal nerve.

1. Lower part of Parotid gland overlapping the
posterior belly of digastric muscle.
2. External carotid artery
3. Carotid sheath containing Internal carotid artery,
internal jugular vein and vagus nerve – pass
more deeply beneath the Parotid gland and
Styloid process.

23. • Ludwig’s angina is a type of severe, diffuse
cellulitis, involving the bilateral tissue spaces
on the floor of the mouth, namely the
submandibular, submental, and sublingual
spaces.
• Trigeminal neuralgia (TN or TGN) is a chronic
pain disorder that affects the trigeminal nerve.
• Bell's palsy is a type of facial paralysis that
results in an inability to control the facial
muscles on the affected side.
