Experience
Presently working as an Analyst Pension Funds in Philip Morris Pakistan Limited
Tasks Performed in Philip Morris (Pakistan) Ltd.
• Establish/assist with minimum supervision the regular monthly, quarterly and annual financial results
and ensure that they are analyzed, commented and reported according to the instructions received
(content & timing) from regional and local financial management and/or external authorities. Prepare
monthly and annual regional reporting for Severance. Ensuring compliance of pension funds investment
with PMI pension directives, SOX & local laws. Timely submit quarterly payment of Zakat (deducted
on Pension Funds) to State Bank of Pakistan.
• Responsible for booking monthly accruals related to bonus, group insurance, medical insurance, leave
encashment, & gratuity in SAP. Monitor and prepare monthly reconciliations of payroll related GL
accounts for timely submission to Financial Accounting; and take corrective actions in case of any
discrepancy.
• In charge of benefit scheme (including health & life insurance schemes by law as well as by company’s
discretion), review monthly reconciliation of medical claims, verification of claim reimbursement and
computation of insurance premium. Coordinate with the insurance providers to resolve employee issues
regarding health care and life plan. Maintain contractual agreements with Insurance providers and
coordinate with Supply Chain during the bidding/renewal exercise.
• Prepare data and coordinate with Actuary for annual actuarial valuation and it’s onwards submission to
PMI. Organize and facilitate annual statutory audits of Pension Funds and WPPF. Provide relevant
data/reports to all relevant stakeholders to facilitate all company audits both internal and external.
• Perform all computerized accounting activities and prepare monthly financials of Pension Funds (Trial
Balance, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliations) to monitor the funds’ position.
Control of account reconciliations, year-end adjustments, accruals and prepayments and the
maintenance of professionally constructed working-papers file, providing both an audit trail and ease of
reviewing. Administer and coordinate with Fund Investment Advisor with reference to daily trading,
subscription and redemption of the equity portfolio.
2. • Processing of loans & permanent withdrawals application against employees’ provident fund within the
agreed timelines and as per policy. Update pension scheme member account on monthly basis and
arrange to provide fund statements to members to comply with the statutory requirement.
• Review and maintain trust deeds of Pension Funds and WPPF. Ensure timely update of changes in
Trustees/Bank Signatories to ensure smooth business operations.
