Dosage of Chlorpheniramine Maleate

Dosage of Paracetamol/Acetaminophen
Adults: 0.5-1gm 3-6 times daily max 4gm. Children: 15mg/kg/dose or
60mg/kg/24hr divided every 6 hrs. Maximum 5 doses SOS.
Dosage of Phenylephrine
The prescribed dose is: IM- 2 to 5 mg. IV- 0.1 to 0.5mg by slow infusion. PO- 5 to
10mg. Nasal- Nasal congestion: As 0.25-1% solution: Instill/spray 4 hourly as
needed. Ophthalmic- Usually 0.12% solution: Instill 1-2 drops ?4 times/day for
72 hour.

Psychomotor impairment, blurred vision, dry eyes, mydriasis, drowsiness,

Bronchospasm, blood dyscrasias, centribular necrosis, liver damage,
hypoglycemic, coma, hepatic necrosis, liver failure, skin rashes, GI adverse
effects.
Side effects of Phenylephrine
Anxiety, tachycardia, reflex bradycardia, arrhythmias, cold
extremities/gangrene, headache, nausea, vomiting, sweating, hypertension,
weakness, restlessness, fear, insomnia and confusion.

Pregnancy
Use of Wikoryl Tablet During Pregnancy:
Wikoryl Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are
limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be
