1986-2007
Food & Drink specialist Photographer
• London freelance photographic assistant for two years, working with all the top
still life and special effect photographers before setting up Struan Wallace
photography back in 1985.
• Opened my first studio in 1986 at Hatton Gardens while working for most IPC
and Conde Nash, National Mag publications.
• Moved to my own purpose built photographic studio 1990 off Brick Lane in
London’s trendy East end for the next 22 years working for Editorial, Design and
Advertising clients, One of the very first London photographers to support digital
camera technology.
• Clients varied from F & M to ASDA, Coca-Cola to JW Black label, Pedigree dog
food to Caviar house, Huggies to Wilko’s own brand nappies, Disney to Pound
land.
I successfully trained many assistant photographers to be stars of today.

1978-1985
Finished Kilmarnock Academy 1978 to study Science and Technology at Stow College
of engineering in Glasgow, with the thought of entering into the booming nuclear energy
sector at the time as a technician. Part of the course was optics, which lead me onto
photography.
Finished Glasgow Stow College of engineering 1980 to study Professional Photography
at Blackpool and Fylde Art college which is still one of the best recognized photographic
institutions to this day.
