2. Taxpayers have certain rights under KRA;
1. Information -Taxpayers are entitled to complete, timely and accurate information on their rights and obligations
under the various Acts administered by KRA
3. 2. Impartiality-Taxpayers are entitled to demand impartial application of the Law- i.e. KRA to collect only the
correct amount of tax, duties, levies and fees.
4. 3. Courtesy and Consideration- Taxpayers are entitled to courteous, considerate and non discriminatory
treatment in their dealings with KRA officials
5. 4. Presumption of honesty-Taxpayers are presumed honest unless there is evidence to the contrary
6. 5. Your right to question us-You have a right to question the information, advice and service provided to you. You
will be informed about options available for resolving disagreements and helped to reach an outcome quickly and
simply.
7. 6. Privacy and Confidentiality-You are assured that the personal and financial information provided to KRA, shall
only be used for purposes of carrying out lawful duties unless we have your authority to do otherwise or in situations
permitted by Law.
8. 7. Identification- You have a right to demand an official KRA identification card from any of our staff visiting or
serving you on official duties. In case of doubt, you may also call your nearest KRA office to confirm the identity of the
officer visiting you.
