Experience overview
I have more than 20 years'experienceas a health and safetyprofessional. After leaving a commissioned role withthe
UK Army in 1994 Ijoined the oil andgas industryand rapidlyprogressed to senior HSEQpositions in rail construction,
initially with Network Rail in the UK and more recently with Laing O'Rourke in Australia and with Al Ayuni Investment
Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia..
A dedicatedoccupationalhealth andsafetypractitioner,I always seeks to achieve the higheststandards in myrole.Iam
well qualified as a lifting operations appointed operator, trainer andassessor, including helicopter work and OHL's and
transmissionlines.Ihave extensive experiencein the health and safetyissues relatingto rail renewal, new build railand
construction civil projects.
Since joining respective organisations, I have built up a very strong working relationship within the project teams, our
principalframework contractors andstatutoryenforcementbodies. These relationships are critical to myperformance.I
would note thatmyprevious military, construction site and offshore experience has equipped me well for working in all
environments and shift patterns.
My approachto work emphasises the culturalchanges required to makehealth and safetya lived realityon the worksite.
I work on applyingprocess to modifybehaviours soas to slowlybutsurelychange workcultures to achieve the highest
standards of job safety.
A strong team playerand believer in a oneteam approach (including contractors),Istrive to gain thetrustofall workers
– to get them on board as a team. My fundamental maxim is that safety results are best driven from the workforce –
"people are the solution" – guided by behavioural change.
