I have more than 20 years'experienceas a health and safetyprofessional.After leaving a commissioned role withthe
UK Army in 1994 Ijoined the oil andgas industryand rapidlyprogressed to senior HSEQpositions in rail construction,
initially with Network Rail in the UK and more recently with Laing O'Rourke in Australia and with Al Ayuni Investment
Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia..

Jan 2015 - Present. Waad Al Shamaal Project, KSA, Saudi Arabia Rail SAR 770m
Project involvesconstruction of 190Km new rail infrastructure, Road bridges, camel crossings
and culvertsto service new phosphate mine at Turaif. Leading a team of 6 HSE Advisors with a
dedicated campsite medic. Responsible for the Implementation of new safety and environmental
management systems for AICC across all sectors and leading team for future ISO 18001 & ISO
14001 accreditation.
Safety Manager
Oct 2013– Dec 2014 Bauhinia Line Electrification project, QLD, Aurizon $110m
The Bauhinia Electrification Project involves 110km of rail electrification, linking Xstrata Coal’s Rolleston Mine to the
Wiggins Island CoalExportTerminal.The projectwill alsosupportthelonger term developmentoflocal mineoperations.
The scope ofworks includes a 132kVfeeder station,5km of132kVoverhead transmission line,a 50kVFeeder Station,
50kV Track Sectioning Yard, several trackside auto transformers, 110km of overhead traction wiring,
telecommunications and more than 2,300 overhead wiring mast foundations.
Reporting to the Project Manager and leading a team of two Safety Advisors, One Environmental advisor and one
trainer/assessor duties include for all HSE coverage of the Bauhinia Line Electrification project.
Senior Safety Advisor (Acting Safety Manager)
Mar2012–Sep2013 Port Hedland Inner Harbour and Jimblebar Project, WA, BHP Billiton Iron Ore $106m
This project – formerlyknown as RGP 5B and 6A – involved improving BHP Billiton Iron Ore's railinfrastructure in the
Pilbara region of Western Australia. Laing O'Rourke installed 119km of new track and 85 turnouts and carried out the
operation and maintenance ofa flash buttweldingyard and locomotives used for ballastand rail deliveries.The works
requirednumerous short-term closures ofthe railway,and through close collaboration withthe clientour team ensured
that there were zero delays to its operations.
Reporting to the Project Safety Manager, I led a team of two Safety Advisors duties covering the Western Australia
geographical area, including Port Hedland Inner Harbour and Newman Mine’s dual rail works.
