The document provides information about electric vehicles (EVs) and charging. It summarizes that Clackamas County is working on a climate action plan and hosting webinars on going solar. It also notes that Estacada, Oregon has two public EV charging stations. Forth is then introduced as a nonprofit that advocates for electric mobility. The rest of the document discusses types of EVs, charging levels and infrastructure, benefits of EVs like cost savings and the environment, available incentives, and used EV options.

Ø City Hall, 475 SE Main St.
Each has two Level 2 chargers and two Tesla chargers
4. Forth is a nonprofit trade association and advocate for electric,
shared, and smart mobility
We are active in four main areas:
• Industry Development - We bring together businesses, utilities and communities to support
growth, create living-wage jobs and strengthen our economy.
• Policy Advocacy - We advocate for smart laws and policies that strengthen emerging
mobility solutions and ensure cutting-edge technologies benefit us all.
• Demonstration Projects - We bring partners together to demonstrate new technologies in
real-world projects that help improve our lives and expand mobility options.
• Consumer Engagement - We organize events and test drives to showcase the latest
technologies and bring the fun, efficiency and money-saving benefits of electric and smart
mobility to the public.

Example Toyota Prius
Chevy Volt, Honda Clarity
Plug-In Hybrid, Chrysler
Pacifica PHEV
Nissan Leaf, Chevy
Bolt, Tesla Model S
7. Still Requires Gas
Regular Hybrid vs PHEV
Forth 7
Can Pump Gas or Plug in
The battery is charged through regenerative
braking and by the vehicles alternator and
not through charging
The battery is much larger for PHEV’s 12 kWh for the
vehicle above and can be charged through regenerative
braking or by plugging the vehicle in
8. Electric Vehicle Types
Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV):
• 100% electric, completely battery powered
• Plug-in to recharge
• Ex: Chevy Bolt EV, VW e-Golf, BMW i3, Tesla Model 3
(pictured) and all other Tesla models, Hyundai Kona
EV
Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHEV):
• PHEVs have an “Electric only” mode or default to
driving just on electricity when fully charged
• Both electric and gasoline powered
• Varying sizes of battery packs
• Plug-in to recharge battery, fill tank when needed
• Ex: RAV4 Prime (pictured), Kia Niro PHEV, Honda
Clarity PHEV, Chevy Volt, Hyundai Ioniq PHEV

20. Electric Vehicles are Cheaper to
Maintain than Gasoline Vehicles
EVs cost less than half as
much to operate as gas-
powered cars:
• EV owners on average save $800
per year in maintenance costs
compared to gasoline vehicles
• Vastly reduced maintenance and
no oil changes
• Regenerative braking means
reduced brake use
