Using your pointer, Claim some space. Then using the whiteboard text tool, give an example of a group work exercise that you might set. You have 2 mins to think about this. Give me a green check mark when you have finished.” SAY: “Ok, we have got a few suggestions. Now I’d like to use the whiteboard tick or cross tools to indicate for each suggestion if you think this exercise can be transferred to a wiki. Give me a green check mark when you have done.” SAY: “Using your pointer choose a suggestion other than your own and explain why you think it will or won’t make a for a group collaboration activity for a wiki.” JOB : Call on participants randomly by name to give their opinion. Pick at least 4 to discuss with participants TRANSITION SAY: “Ok, we have established some ways that a wiki can be used for group collaboration, now [the Producer] is going to demonstrate how you can join up to a wiki web service and create and edit your own wiki pages. This information is in page 3, section 5.1.1 of your lesson 2 guide, Be sure to have it ready as you will joining yourself later. Over to you [the producer]” JOB: Clear green check marks. Watch the clips carefully, use Appendix 2 of your participant guide to jot down some other uses of a wiki apart from group collaboration, When the videoclip has finished I shall ask you to work in pairs using text chat and agree the on the idea you like best and why?. One of you will explain your decision to the class, the other will jot down a heading for your topic on the whiteboard. ” JOB/ INFO: Move to the appropriate slide and watch video clip SAY: “Ok, if we pair up from top down to the bottom on the participant panel and start chatting privately with your partner. You have 2 minutes to decide between you what idea you liked the best and why? Using the whiteboard drawing tool you have one minute to write down any potential problems you can see in using wiki’s for teaching and learning. By joining wikispaces you can create a number of different wiki’s for a number of different purposes. You will be automatically sent to the wiki home page after joining. Don’t actually join but explain that we can go back at a later date to edit this page and create new pages and that once you have joined up to wikispaces you can join any other spaces that have been created on wikispaces.
