2017 Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Championship (Fri.
Oct. 20 & Sat. Oct. 21; check competition times on website) — Presented by Yama-
ha, this is an event to get your toes tapping and hands clapping! Outstanding high
school marching bands from throughout Illinois, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri,
Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, Mississippi,
South Dakota, and Alabama will compete in one of the nation’s most prominent
championships, Music for All’s Bands of America Super Regional Championship at

Not-So-Haunted House at The Magic House in Kirkwood (Fri. Oct. 20-Sun. Oct. 22 & Fri. Oct. 27-Sun.
Oct. 29. Times: Fri. 9:30 am-9 pm, Sat. 9:30 am-5:30 pm, and Sun. 11 am-5:30 pm) — Children of all ages are
invited to dress in their most “boo-tiful” costumes and have a ghoulishly good time trick-or-treating and getting
autographs from their favorite storybook characters at this candy-free celebration. Cost is free with Magic House

Haunted Hayloft at Purina Farms (Fri. Oct. 20-Sun. Oct. 22 & Fri. Oct. 27-Sun. Oct. 29. Times: Fri. & Sat.
4:30-7:30 pm, and Sun. 2:30-5:30 pm) — Each season, Purina Farms hosts special annual gatherings. From egg
hunts to trick-or-treating, families can celebrate their favorite holiday at this family-friendly event. Features not-
so-scary entertainment for kids, including trick-or-treating, costume contest, magic shows, face painting, canine

Boo at the Zoo (Fri. Oct. 20 through Mon. Oct. 30, 5:30-8:30 pm) — Join the Saint Louis Zoo for their special
Halloween evenings! Bring your little ghouls and goblins for a non-scary, kid-friendly Halloween experience filled
with laughs and adventure. Children are encouraged to wear costumes. Children 12 and under will receive a
treat bag upon exiting. (Boo at the Zoo Nights is not a trick-or-treating experience.) Admission ticket required.

Show Me Sweets Cake & Candy Convention (Sun. Oct. 22, 10:30 am-5 pm) — The Show Me Sweets
Cake & Candy Convention is the first of its kind in the Midwest. Held at the St. Louis City Center Hotel, this taste-
filled event features dessert demonstrations, hands-on learning opportunities, booths with local and worldwide
industry vendors and suppliers, the Edible Art Competition, and the Sweet Taste of St. Louis Tasting. Vendors
include French Pastry School of Chicago, Cakeology, Poppy Paint, Nicholas Lodge School, Grex Airbrush, Never

Deutsch Country Days at Luxenhaus Farms in Marthasville, MO (Sat. Oct. 21 & Sun. Oct. 22, 9 am-5
pm) — Enjoy a step back in time at Deutsch Country days, held on the private Luxenhaus Farm. Featuring 21
restored structures that come to life with craftspeople, re-enactors and vendors. Located at State Highway O at
Marthasville. Costs: $18.50, $16.50 for seniors and military, $8 for ages 5-15, free for children 4 and under.
