Relevancy: This describes how well a listing
matches a search. If your listing is detailed and
up to date it is more likely to show up in search.
Distance: Just like it sounds -- how far is each

in your search, Google calculates distance

Prominence: This describes how well-known or
prominent a business is. This is based on

This means the business is verified. The business owner or
someone authorized to manage the business confirmed
the location.
They can sign into the listing and make updates to the
listing that appear on search and maps.
You can see suggestions to keep the listing up to date
plus a preview of the listing as it could appear on Google.
When you sign in, if something is missing they are
highlighted for your attention.
To access Google My Business from the diagnostic tool
Click the Edit Your Info Button. You will need to sign in
with the google user name and password assigned to
your listing.
18. YOUR BUSINESS INFO MIGHT BE INCORRECT ON GOOGLE
This means that business
information may appear on Google,
but the location is unconfirmed and
the business owner hasn't claimed
the listing.
If this is your business you can claim
it to confirm the location and
manage the information that

31. OPTIMIZING YOUR GMB PAGE
Business Name – Make sure this is your correct business name. Some businesses try to add keywords to
their business name to rank higher in maps. This is a HUGE NO-NO! Doing this could cause your listing to
get removed completely.
Address – Be sure your address matches the address on the website, exactly. Sometimes Google will
change certain elements of the address (like changing Boulevard to Blvd), if this happens, change the
address to match the address as it appears on your Google My Business Listing.
Category – You can add up to 5 services. Choose the ones that are the most relevant to your business
Business Hours – Fill this out completely & make sure the information matches what’s on your website
Photos – Try to add up to 10 photos. You can use pictures of the inside of your store, staff pictures and so
on.
