An old woman is sitting in her living room as she looks at the grandchildren playing
in the garden. She then looks up to her husband’s photograph that is hanging on
the wall.
A voiceover appears during this part. The narration is the old woman. She speaks
about an important message that she wants to say. She refers to how precious
time is and that it shouldn’t be wasted. This voiceover is the direct mode of
address towards the younger audience in order for them to be able to relate to
what’s going on in the opening.
A flashback occurs of the woman and her husband laughing and smiling in a field.
She goes and collects a box from the cupboard in the living room and sits back
down with the box.
She opens the lid of the box and starts to look through the contents of the box.
She picks up a picture of the two of them together and smiles. She puts it to the
side of the box and then gets bunch of letters out. She picks up the first letter and
it’s about them meeting.
A voiceover reads out the note – The husband’s voice. It then flashbacks to that
scene where they first met.
Credits appear on the bottom left and right hand side of the screen throughout
this opening.
Music begins to play when the scene starts and finishes when the flashback of the
first day they met comes up.
