1. I had a lot of frustration coming into Full Sail. I put down my music and decided on
learning something that would add value to my skill set. The courses provided
gave me an understanding of concepts that I had knowledge of already. All the
courses met my expectations in the sense that I needed to feed my mind with
what I was being taught. Each class was designed to build knowledge that gave
insight into the next class. Terminology was the key to gaining understanding. In
every field of study, there are terms used that must be grasped to be effective. I
had a slight knowledge of marketing I had gained from learning to administer the
business in the music industry. Coincidentally I did not choose marketing, it chose
me. The courses I took gave me confidence that I could be an effective employee
in the marketing industry. There is nothing I would do differently. I honestly got
the most out of the courses possible. I came into the situation with a terrible
resume, lacking everything it takes to gain interest from employers. Having a
mental handicap and being a stay-at-home parent, I lost track of myself. Learning
has become more of a refuge for me. I found an emotional connection between
marketing research and data analysis. I never experienced “archetypes” until I
experienced archetypes. The in-depth knowledge of storytelling is something that
I recently connected with also. Introduction to marketing made me a better
consumer, which is a component unbeknownst to me that you could become
better. My social listening is better, the thing about it is that the term “social
listening” is new to me also. I have not taken any accredited curriculum in twenty
years. A 3.7-grade point is something I can be proud of. Having the opportunity
to take part in the brilliant minds I have experienced has done wonders for my
psyche and mental health. Reflecting on the certificate of marketing courses at
Full Sail University I surmise that I can do the work. The expectations I had going
into Project and Portfolio I: Personal Branding course I gained insight that I
needed.
