3. GENDER BIAS
• Gender bias is the tendency to prefer
one gender over another.
• Assumption of one gender is of higher power
than other gender.
• Unequal treatment of men and women
because of the gender.
4. Gender bias in educational institution
• Girl have been discriminated against in terms
of various aspects to their male counter parts.
• Boys get more attention and participation in
class room activities , sports compared to girls
students.
• Girls get less participation opportunities
compared to boys.
• Teachers should provide equal opportunities
to girls and boys.
5. Gender bias in curriculum
• Curriculum does not include subject of specific Gender.
• The curriculum does not encourage or support any
genders.
• Mathematics and science are considered as male
oriented and humanities and language consider as
female oriented subjects.
• Equal opportunities to both genders are not promise in
physical education.
• Revise textbook and learning materials to become
gender sensitive.
6. Gender bias in textbook.
• The images used in a textual content indicate
bias towards a gender.
• There is less the number of the chapters
written by woman in textbook.
• More examples of male characters than
female characters.
• Make a balance in textual materials written by
male and Female authors.
7. Gender bias in managment
• Opportunities and responsibility given is
gender biased .
• Women usually get the fewer opportunities at
work compared with men.
• Gender bias seen in Wages.
• Equal qualification but unequal pay.
• Equal pay, but greater responsibility.
