This document presents a project on generating electrical power through footstep using piezoelectric sensors. It introduces piezoelectric effect which produces electric charge when mechanical stress is applied. A piezoelectric sensor is used to convert the pressure from human footsteps into an electrical signal. A PIC microcontroller processes the variable voltage output and stores it in batteries. The stored power can then be used for small-scale applications like street lighting in rural areas. While requiring no fuel, it has high initial costs and output is affected by temperature. The document outlines the working, applications, advantages and disadvantages of this footstep power generation system.
