What Is The Theme Of The Titanic Essay
Titanic is a wonderful romantic tale. Titanic motion picture is extraordinary compared to other romantic tale that I have observed. The film occurred in
1912, on the well known ship Titanic in the Atlantic Sea.The film starts with the old Rose talking about what happened to her on board the Titanic
boat. She evidently survived from the greatest sink of this "unsinkable" ship at that time. She at that point thinks back and discloses towards her story
in the way that she recalls it. Titanic turned into a tremendous hit when it was appeared in the huge screen. Jack and Rose we're youthful darlings
isolated by social class, yet bound to locate each other on the first venture of the "unsinkable" ship, which is Titanic. That was extraordinary compared
to other movies that ended up noticeably as one of the best acquiring films. The impacts that they made in this motion picture are staggering. The set
was additionally great. The insides of the ship were pleasantly done. The theme that I have chosen in this movie is love conquers all....show more

Jack and Fabrizio go to the bow of the ship. They experience the amazing stature over the water, the energize of the speed and turn in their
appearances. Jack hollers how he feels: "I'm king of the world!" Then the camera pulls in one of the film's most gigantic shots, revealing the Titanic
in all its size, Jack and all the others appeared as ants. From the intensity of a man's energized experience we come to view it as such a little thing
upon the ship, and amidst the ocean.Cameron makes this same point later when, also as Jack and Rose complete their warmed lovemaking, he cuts
hard to a fix of the Titanic from far above. We go from two bodies taking in considerable vitality to the master plan of the ship, its gigantic adequately
brilliant decks irrelevant to the dark sea surrounding

The Sinking of the Titanic Essay
The story behind the titanic is controversial, some people have seen the movie but they do not know the real facts behind it. This essay is going to talk
about the main factors behind the Titanic's failure, the design, the manufacturer, materials, the crew, survivors, Cost of building the ship, the engine, as
well as human errors, and the cause from different point of views. The ship's captain was Edward Smith. The Titanic was built in Belfast, Northern
Ireland on the spring of 1909, for transatlantic passenger and mail services, it was recorded that 15,000 workers helped in the building of the Titanic,
on 14/04/1912 it departed from Southampton, England, heading to New York across the Atlantic Ocean but it went through freezing weather

people, businessmen, tourists and the ship musicians who travelled with same class were mostly poor people from all over Europe going to
America, for health reasons they were separated from the other classes. This exclusion from the rest of the ship largely contributed to higher number
of deaths in third class more than the others, the first class passengers women and children recorded the highest survival rate of all passengers,
according to some eyewitness the third class passengers were kept gated in the lower decks until all the boats were gone and then let free.(Aloridge, A.

Narrative Essay On The Titanic
He told me I should go. But I didn't want to leave my room. I had all of my personal Belongings including our three kids. I wanted them to survive
but I didn't want them to suffer. My heart was beating a million miles an hour. I was swarmed with little thoughts in my head on what to do. I kept
on thinking "If I go there is a chance we get hypothermia in the freezing cold water and die suffering or what if we fall off and drown alive." I just
wanted help. We are all going to die. I boarded the boat, known as the Titanic. It was a ship that was going change my husband's, three kids', and
my own life forever. I was so excited to go on this adventure. As the doorman opened the squeaky metal door to the ship, I started to think what if
this ship sinks. So what I did was when I got to the lobby I asked the Captain "How great of a chance is there that this ship will sink." He replied
"Madam, this ship has been tested completely unsinkable." "Thank you sir". At this point a nice young lady came up to us and said "How are
you" "great'' "Do you know what room you are in?" "Yes, we are in room A25!" "That's amazing, My husband and I are in room A27 would you like me
to show you there." We really wanted to see the ship and get to know the place but we couldn't make the young lady feel bad. "Sure, we would love
that." The lady took us up a flight of stairs and the ship had been decorated perfectly as to be a cute floral museum. The hallway was lined with all

One of the greatest news headlines of all times was actually never supposed to happen. The shocking news of the sunken ocean liner the Titanic
shocked millions. The sinking itself probably wouldn't have even mattered except that the builders themselves said that the ship simply could not
sink. The news not only hit the United States, but countries everywhere were saddened to hear the news of "The Unsinkable" and its grave end. In
1907 a man named J. Bruce Ismay, who was the manager of White Star Lines went to a dinner party at the mansion of the wealthy William James
Pierre. Pierre was a chairman to one of the largest shipbuilding companies in Belfast, Harland and Wolff. At dinner the two discussed luxury ships like

the lookouts of the Titanic, which was moving around 20 ВЅ knots, sight a gigantic iceberg straight in their course. The warning bell is immediately
sounded. Quick after, Sixth Officer Moody relays the message to First Officer Murdoch who calls the engine room and tells the engineers to turn off
the engines and turn the ship hard. Thirty–seven seconds of heart stopping time later, the iceberg strikes the ship on the starboard bow side. The
impact is not noticed by most of the passengers. After some time it is reported to the Capitan that the ship is taking on water rapidly, flooding the
holds and boiler rooms. Thomas Andrews, Capitan Smith's assistant, calculates how much longer the ship can stay afloat and the estimation was
two and a half hours only. The ship sends out distress signals, and many ships hear and prepare to assist the Titanic. At 12:20 A.M. orders are given
to have women and children start to board lifeboats. Most lifeboats only left holding only a fraction of what they were capable of. The last words
heard by neighboring ships by the Titanic were heard at 1:45 A.M. Still holding over one thousand five hundred people, the ships head sinks under
water. All of the lights on the Titanic go out, and a huge roar is heard as all of the objects not bolted to the floor fly towards the submerged bow. At
that point the ship breaks in two, and approximately two minutes later, the remaining stern settles again, fills with water and slowly sinks into the ocean.

The Titanic Essay
The Titanic – History of a Disaster On April 14,1912 a great ship called the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage. That night there were many warnings
of icebergs from other ships. There seems to be a conflict on whether or not the warnings reached the bridge. We may never know the answer to this
question. The greatest tragedy of all may be that there were not enough lifeboats for everyone on board. According to Walter Lord, author of The
Night Lives On, the Titanic could have been saved in the very beginning of the crisis when the iceberg was first reported to the bridge. If First Officer
Murdoch had steamed right at the iceberg instead of trying to avoid it, he might have saved the ship. The author feels there would have been a loud

The Captain was going to have to make a choice as to who would be the first allowed on the lifeboats. Around 12:30 a.m. the bridge informed the
crew that only women and children would be loaded on the lifeboats (Eaton,Haas,152). By 1:30 a.m., there was panic among some of the
passengers. One example was on the port side of the boat. A group of passengers threatened to jump into a boat full of passengers. To scare them,
one of the officers fired three shots on the ship's side. The warning proved to be successful. Nobody was injured and the passengers calmed down
(Eaton and Haas 154). At the last moments with only forty seven available spaces on the last lifeboat, the crew instructed everyone to form a circle
around the boat. Women and children were the only people permitted to pass through the circle. A little while after the last lifeboat left, the stern lifted
clear out of the water with more than 1500 people still on board (Eaton and Haas 157–161). The climatic moment came at 2:20 a.m. The Titanic stood
perpendicular to the water. As people in the lifeboats looked on, they noticed the ship stayed perpendicular for a minute and then disappeared to the
bottom of the ocean (Lord, Lives on 137). Captain Rostron of the ship Carpathia determined the distance to the Titanic and quickly calculated the
course to answer the Titanic's distress call

TITANIC This paper will be about the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic. Some people call this sinking the greatest maritime disaster. It wasn't just the fact
that the ship sank, but also all the different circumstances that caused this ship to sink and take so many lives.      In
the time period of 1900's–1915's many things happened. One major disaster was the sinking of the Titanic. The information will be gathered from the
library, a documentary film, the Internet and personal books. From these resources the paper will explain about how the Titanic sank, some of the
people who were on the ship and how it was found after over 70 years at the bottom of the Atlantic. People who read this paper should learn about the

( Internet)      It was believed that the other 44 lifeboats were taken off to make more room. At that time there
was no rule on how many lifeboats were needed on a ship. After the sinking, there were rules made on how many lifeboats a certain ship would
have to carry. (Internet)      About four years before the Titanic was even a thought, an author wrote about a huge
ship, exactly like the Titanic. He wrote that on the ships maiden voyage it struck an iceberg and sank, killing thousands of people. The name of this
ship that the author wrote about was called the "Titan." Many people think that the Titanic was doomed before it even set sail for New
York City. As the Titanic moved through the harbor, a huge displacement of water caused the steamer New York to snap its mooring lines and the
New York began to slide towards the Titanic but tugboats moved the ship away before any damage could be done. On the way to Cherbourg, France,
there was a fire in boiler room number 5. All these things happened before the ship picked up any passengers. ("R.M.S."Internet)
There were three classes of people aboard the Titanic. The Upper class, mostly rich, business owners, aboard the
ship just to say they were on the maiden voyage. The Middle class, the people who could not afford the Upper class tickets. They were mostly small to
medium business owners who were on vacation just to

Sociological Analysis Of The Titanic ' Essay
Sociological analysis of the Titanic When researching movies for my paper, I decided that the Titanic was the perfect option. Being that the
movie was based on the true event of the RMS Titanic sinking, I knew I could also find a lot of research during the time of the Titanic to help
strengthen my paper. The movie Titanic took place in the early 1900's, a time rich in sociological issues. Their way of life was a lot different than
ours today. Some major sociological concepts that were shown several times in the movie were, social stratification, gender inequality and sexism,
inequality of income, and discrimination. During this time period people faced huge gaps in wealth, gender, class, and race. Gaps between the rich
and poor were extreme. The wealthy were rich and the poor were in poverty. The "middle class" was not a common standing within society: you were
either upper or lower class. It was very difficult to rise above the lower class standing, and easier to fall below the upper class line (Prezi web). Men
dominated in almost all social standings; voting, ownership of land, professions, wealth, etc. Women were still viewed as "property" and in most ways,
treated as such. The gap between the upper and lower class caused discrimination amongst them. Lower–class was treated poorly by the upper–class and
seen as less worthy. In my paper I plan to include all of these sociological issues, and clearly connect them within the movie, Titanic. The movie Titanic
was a drama,

No one ever thought the Titanic would sink, but it did. No one ever thought the Argistan 447 would crash, but somehow it did. It started out as a
normal day. Little did I know that this ordinary day would turn out to be one of America's most memorable plane crashes. It was Thursday,
normally I would be heading to work, but today the President had called 12 of us in to meet him. We boarded the plane, and I got seated next to
the media director. Her job was to censor all of the media that gets broadcasted throughout America. Liftoff was like the definition of perfect, but
about halfway through we turned off course. The plane started to shake and it started to roll. It fell to the ground and I blacked out. When I woke
up some of the survivors were huddled in a lump. The media director was lying in a pool of crimson blood along with Senator Recken. I tried to
get up, but I couldn't, my legs wouldn't move. The health administrator got up a looked at my leg. A piece of the plane had flown into my leg. He
removed the metal and bandaged my leg. He helped me up and I started to limp. Everyone thought my leg wouldn't make it. We made a fire with
the emergency kit and we huddled up next to it."I'll take the first watch." The head of the police Commander Jake Brennings. We agreed that I
would take the second shift, and The FBI agent Dan Brinker would watch until sunrise. We woke up around the middle of the night to the sound of
wolves howling. The howling got louder. We got everything we could salvage from the crash and ran. On the way, we ended up losing the disease
control officer. We ended up at a river and stopped to take a quick break. The wolves had left us alone and we were safe. For now. When sunrise
came we all introduced ourselves. "My name Is lee anna and I am an Air Force managing officer " "My name is Charlie Wesbrose And I am a

Today I chose to watch "Titanic" for the very first time. I chose to watch "Titanic, because I wanted to know what the movie was really about, maybe
I might like the movie. Actually watching the movie gives you another perspective than just knowing what the setting and theme is about. Many
people looked at me like I was crazy, when I said "I had never watched "Titanic", and wanted to finallywatch it, and see if I actually would like, so I
gave it a chance. My one regret is coming into the movie hating it and not wanting to enjoy it. I thought that the movie was going to be the worst three
hours of my life, I will never make that mistake coming into a movie already hating it before I even watched it.

Currently it's 2018, 106 years since the disaster in 1912. A little while ago, we finished the unit on the Titanic and most of my questions were answered.
Like exactly how many people were able to survive the tragedy or why did only a few lifeboats go back to find survivors? "706 survivors" and "the
people onboard didn't want to die" were the responses I got.
There were many other interesting facts about the Titanic, and I'm going to try to include them all in this writing.
First things first, the Titanic was said to be "The Ship of Wonders"; and if you were onboard, you would've thought that it truly was. Almost everything
onboard was extraordinary. From the bedrooms to the restaurants, everything looked amazing. However, that was if you

Argumentative Essay On The Titanic
It may seem clichГ© to have the Titanic as a wonder of the industrial world but we must recognize that it is. Today when we hear the word
"Titanic" we think of Leonardo DiCaprio and how he should have won an Oscar for his brilliant work in the movie. Everybody knows the basic
story of the Titanic but unfortunately nobody ever goes deeper, the extent of knowledge is the movie and frankly it's quite sad. The Titanic is a
wonder of the world for many reasons and deserves to be but don't get me wrong, it wasn't all perfect.
In the first half of the 20th century there was great competition between nations and similarly rival shipping lines. J. Bruce Ismay, the chief executive of
the White Star Line and William J. Pirrie, the chairman of the Belfast–based...show more content...
Although there was such hype for the Titanic and it was supposedly the first of its kind, it was apparently doomed from the start. This new Olympic
class ship had a double bottom and 15 watertight bulkheads, which were equipped with electric watertight doors; a switch on the bridge could operate
these separately. Shipbuilder magazine actually claimed these bulkheads as "unsinkable" however the manufacturing of these bulkheads had a huge
flaw. Even though the bulkheads were watertight, water could leak from one compartment to another practically creating a flood in the compartments.
We all know the Titanic sunk and unfortunately we only know of 706 out of 3300 that had reported to be survivors. A large part of the problem
that only 706 people were saved was because there was a limited amount of lifeboats carried. There were 20 lifeboats in total, with all of these; only
1178 people could be accommodated even though when the Titanic was full, it could carry 2435 passengers. This left 1257 people unaccounted for,
and on top of this, there was a crew of approximately 900 people. Even if all the lifeboats were filled with people, there would be only room for
one–third of the ship's population. Today we think that the amount of lifeboats was inadequate however funnily enough, the Titanic had more lifeboats
on average than most ships and also exceeded the British Board of Trade's

Titanic, 882 feet long, 92 feet broad, 45000 tons register, 66000 tons displacement and 175 feet high. The biggest and most luxurious ship known to

I squeezed back through the crowd to a small opening at the bar. I ordered my brandy and whilst waiting for it I listened in on a conversation
between two men who looked like engineers. One of the men was arguing that the Titanic was "too heavy and large to float" whilst the other man
argued that it was "unsinkable due to its water tight compartments". I turned back to the bar and drank my brandy in one. I'd had enough of the smell
and the noise in the bar and made a quick exit.
As I approached the Titanic I grabbed hold of my bags and took a deep breath. This voyage was to be the experience of a lifetime and hopefully the
start of a career that I had always been looking for. As I clambered up the stairs with my bags, I looked back at the dock for one last time, as I would
not see it in months. The first look of Titanic's interior blew me away; it was like walking into a floating palace. As I walked around the ship I was
amazed at all the modern technology they had onboard, it even had a heated swimming pool, along with other things like a squash court and a gym.
By the time I got back to my starting point I was exhausted. I decided the best thing to do to avoid all the passengers, was to relax in the first class
dining saloon. The saloon was not yet open to the boarding passengers and

Analysis of The Titanic, by James Cameron Essay
Within the context of film industry, the film Titanic by James Cameron belongs to epic romance/ disaster genre. The film, released in 1997, was a
global box office hit because the director provided equal importance to history, fiction and romance. To be specific, one can see that the film's plot is
based upon the history of RMS Titanic. On the other side, the main characters including the protagonist and the heroine (Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt
Bukater/Dawson) are fictional characters. Besides, the element of romance between the main characters (Jack and Rose) is the film's main attraction.
Thesis statement: The critical analysis of the film Titanic proves that the innovative mode of storytelling (flash back and other techniques),...show more

Within this context, the director made use of flashback technique to unearth the romantic story of the lovers in the film. To be specific, the plot moves
from present condition (say, 1996) to past (say, 1912) and to present (1996). In the opening scene, the director portrays the effort of Brock Lovett (say, a
treasure hunter) to unearth the secret behind a necklace sunk with RMS Titanic in 1912. Gradually, the director portrays the love affair between Rose
and Jack. In the end, Rose drops the necklace into the Ocean and returns. The film ends with a fictional reunion between the lovers. B. Acting The
film's casting is related to historical and fictional characters. For instance, some of real travelers in the RMS Titanic are portrayed in the film. This is
helpful for the viewers to identify the historical element of the film. On the other side, the protagonist and the heroine are fictional characters. For
instance, Jack and Rose, (the protagonist and his lady love) are fictional characters who inculcated the element of romance in the film. One can see
that the director's decision to caste Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson (say, the protagonist) is one of the elements behind the commercial success of
the film. Besides, DiCaprio's youthful exuberance suits his character in the film. On the other side, Kate Winslet's character as Rose DeWitt Bukater is

Titanic: The Unsinkable Ship, is a tragic story we all know well. Ironically enough, as you know, the Titanic (the unsinkable ship) sank; however,
the lost and lived lives of the people aboard the tremendous ship when it sank are, sadly, stories we do not know. All of them , rich and poor, were
in the same boat, literally, when it crashed into that murderous glacier. However, is the gun the murderer if a man pulled its trigger and the bullet
found its awesomely sweet embrace in the chest of another. What I mean is, the death of 1,503 souls could have been saved if pride would have
been set aside and warnings heeded. One of the souls lost was Sydney Samuel Jackson, a lawyer originally from south Africa who was on a trip to
Montreal with his wife, and her mother and sisters . Jacobsohn was born in Cape Town, South Africa on the 23 of October, 1869. Sydney had 7 other

Titanic Thesis Statement
The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it
was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the
ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures
showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most
would agree that all of this points to it being true. Everyone knows the story of the Titanic. The ship was on its maiden voyage when it hit an iceberg
and sank, leading to the death of more than 1,500 people ("Titanic" A+E Networks). It was a horrible event, but it may have all been planned by the
company that owned the ship. White Star Line owned both the Titanic and its sister ship, the Olympic. The...show more content...

the titanic was going to sink and were warned. An example of one of these men is J.P. Morgan. He canceled his trip on the Titanic just a few days
before its voyage, saying that it was due to sickness. A short while after he was photographed in France with his wife in seemingly good health. One

It is a well known fact that the Titanic's meaning is to have exceptional strength, size, or power, which was true when the RMS Titanic was built. We
still remember the sinking of the Titanic today. It was a memorable moment because the Titanic was thought to be the "unsinkable" and the largest
ship ever made of it's time in 1912. There were also many rich and famous people to set sail on the Titanic from Southampton to New York and many
of them died from the sinking of the Titanic. It was also it's her first voyage to set sail from southampton to New york.
When the Titanic was finally launched on May 31, 1911. Bruce Ismay was the chairman of the White Star Line company and Thomas Andrews was the
one who designed the Titanic. It started its construction at Harland and Wolffshipyard on May 31, 1909. People thought that the ship was known as
"unsinkable" because they believed that they used the most advanced technology of its time in order to make this most magnificent ship built of its

  • 1. What Is The Theme Of The Titanic Essay Titanic is a wonderful romantic tale. Titanic motion picture is extraordinary compared to other romantic tale that I have observed. The film occurred in 1912, on the well known ship Titanic in the Atlantic Sea.The film starts with the old Rose talking about what happened to her on board the Titanic boat. She evidently survived from the greatest sink of this "unsinkable" ship at that time. She at that point thinks back and discloses towards her story in the way that she recalls it. Titanic turned into a tremendous hit when it was appeared in the huge screen. Jack hollers how he feels: "I'm king of the world!" Then the camera pulls in one of the film's most gigantic shots, revealing the Titanic in all its size, Jack and all the others appeared as ants. From the intensity of a man's energized experience we come to view it as such a little thing upon the ship, and amidst the ocean.Cameron makes this same point later when, also as Jack and Rose complete their warmed lovemaking, he cuts hard to a fix of the Titanic from far above. This essay is going to talk about the main factors behind the Titanic's failure, the design, the manufacturer, materials, the crew, survivors, Cost of building the ship, the engine, as well as human errors, and the cause from different point of views. The ship's captain was Edward Smith. • 4. Narrative Essay On The Titanic He told me I should go. But I didn't want to leave my room. I had all of my personal Belongings including our three kids. I wanted them to survive but I didn't want them to suffer. My heart was beating a million miles an hour. I was swarmed with little thoughts in my head on what to do. I kept on thinking "If I go there is a chance we get hypothermia in the freezing cold water and die suffering or what if we fall off and drown alive." I just wanted help. We are all going to die. I boarded the boat, known as the Titanic. It was a ship that was going change my husband's, three kids', and my own life forever. I was so excited to go on this adventure. As the doorman opened the squeaky metal door to the ship, I started to think what if this ship sinks. So what I did was when I got to the lobby I asked the Captain "How great of a chance is there that this ship will sink." He replied "Madam, this ship has been tested completely unsinkable." "Thank you sir". At this point a nice young lady came up to us and said "How are you" "great'' "Do you know what room you are in?" "Yes, we are in room A25!" "That's amazing, My husband and I are in room A27 would you like me to show you there." We really wanted to see the ship and get to know the place but we couldn't make the young lady feel bad. "Sure, we would love that." The lady took us up a flight of stairs and the ship had been decorated perfectly as to be a cute floral museum. The hallway was lined with all white walls, and with a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Titanic Essay example One of the greatest news headlines of all times was actually never supposed to happen. The shocking news of the sunken ocean liner the Titanic shocked millions. The sinking itself probably wouldn't have even mattered except that the builders themselves said that the ship simply could not sink. The news not only hit the United States, but countries everywhere were saddened to hear the news of "The Unsinkable" and its grave end. In 1907 a man named J. Bruce Ismay, who was the manager of White Star Lines went to a dinner party at the mansion of the wealthy William James Pierre. Pierre was a chairman to one of the largest shipbuilding companies in Belfast, Harland and Wolff. At dinner the two discussed luxury ships like the Lusitania and the...show more content... the lookouts of the Titanic, which was moving around 20 ВЅ knots, sight a gigantic iceberg straight in their course. The warning bell is immediately sounded. Quick after, Sixth Officer Moody relays the message to First Officer Murdoch who calls the engine room and tells the engineers to turn off the engines and turn the ship hard. Thirty–seven seconds of heart stopping time later, the iceberg strikes the ship on the starboard bow side. The impact is not noticed by most of the passengers. After some time it is reported to the Capitan that the ship is taking on water rapidly, flooding the holds and boiler rooms. Thomas Andrews, Capitan Smith's assistant, calculates how much longer the ship can stay afloat and the estimation was two and a half hours only. The ship sends out distress signals, and many ships hear and prepare to assist the Titanic. At 12:20 A.M. orders are given to have women and children start to board lifeboats. Most lifeboats only left holding only a fraction of what they were capable of. The last words heard by neighboring ships by the Titanic were heard at 1:45 A.M. Still holding over one thousand five hundred people, the ships head sinks under water. All of the lights on the Titanic go out, and a huge roar is heard as all of the objects not bolted to the floor fly towards the submerged bow. At that point the ship breaks in two, and approximately two minutes later, the remaining stern settles again, fills with water and slowly sinks into the ocean. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Titanic Essay The Titanic – History of a Disaster On April 14,1912 a great ship called the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage. That night there were many warnings of icebergs from other ships. There seems to be a conflict on whether or not the warnings reached the bridge. We may never know the answer to this question. The greatest tragedy of all may be that there were not enough lifeboats for everyone on board. According to Walter Lord, author of The Night Lives On, the Titanic could have been saved in the very beginning of the crisis when the iceberg was first reported to the bridge. If First Officer Murdoch had steamed right at the iceberg instead of trying to avoid it, he might have saved the ship. The author feels there would have been a loud ...show more content... The Captain was going to have to make a choice as to who would be the first allowed on the lifeboats. Around 12:30 a.m. the bridge informed the crew that only women and children would be loaded on the lifeboats (Eaton,Haas,152). By 1:30 a.m., there was panic among some of the passengers. One example was on the port side of the boat. A group of passengers threatened to jump into a boat full of passengers. To scare them, one of the officers fired three shots on the ship's side. The warning proved to be successful. Nobody was injured and the passengers calmed down (Eaton and Haas 154). At the last moments with only forty seven available spaces on the last lifeboat, the crew instructed everyone to form a circle around the boat. Women and children were the only people permitted to pass through the circle. A little while after the last lifeboat left, the stern lifted clear out of the water with more than 1500 people still on board (Eaton and Haas 157–161). The climatic moment came at 2:20 a.m. The Titanic stood perpendicular to the water. As people in the lifeboats looked on, they noticed the ship stayed perpendicular for a minute and then disappeared to the bottom of the ocean (Lord, Lives on 137). Captain Rostron of the ship Carpathia determined the distance to the Titanic and quickly calculated the course to answer the Titanic's distress call Get more content on HelpWriting.net

At that time there was no rule on how many lifeboats were needed on a ship. After the sinking, there were rules made on how many lifeboats a certain ship would have to carry. (Internet)      About four years before the Titanic was even a thought, an author wrote about a huge ship, exactly like the Titanic. He wrote that on the ships maiden voyage it struck an iceberg and sank, killing thousands of people. The name of this ship that the author wrote about was called the "Titan." Many people think that the Titanic was doomed before it even set sail for New York City. As the Titanic moved through the harbor, a huge displacement of water caused the steamer New York to snap its mooring lines and the New York began to slide towards the Titanic but tugboats moved the ship away before any damage could be done. On the way to Cherbourg, France, there was a fire in boiler room number 5. All these things happened before the ship picked up any passengers. ("R.M.S."Internet)      There were three classes of people aboard the Titanic. The Upper class, mostly rich, business owners, aboard the ship just to say they were on the maiden voyage. The Middle class, the people who could not afford the Upper class tickets. They were mostly small to medium business owners who were on vacation just to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Sociological Analysis Of The Titanic ' Essay Sociological analysis of the Titanic When researching movies for my paper, I decided that the Titanic was the perfect option. Being that the movie was based on the true event of the RMS Titanic sinking, I knew I could also find a lot of research during the time of the Titanic to help strengthen my paper. The movie Titanic took place in the early 1900's, a time rich in sociological issues. Their way of life was a lot different than ours today. Some major sociological concepts that were shown several times in the movie were, social stratification, gender inequality and sexism, inequality of income, and discrimination. During this time period people faced huge gaps in wealth, gender, class, and race. Gaps between the rich and poor were extreme. The wealthy were rich and the poor were in poverty. The "middle class" was not a common standing within society: you were either upper or lower class. It was very difficult to rise above the lower class standing, and easier to fall below the upper class line (Prezi web). Men dominated in almost all social standings; voting, ownership of land, professions, wealth, etc. Women were still viewed as "property" and in most ways, treated as such. The gap between the upper and lower class caused discrimination amongst them. Lower–class was treated poorly by the upper–class and seen as less worthy. In my paper I plan to include all of these sociological issues, and clearly connect them within the movie, Titanic. The movie Titanic was a drama, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay About The Titanic No one ever thought the Titanic would sink, but it did. No one ever thought the Argistan 447 would crash, but somehow it did. It started out as a normal day. Little did I know that this ordinary day would turn out to be one of America's most memorable plane crashes. It was Thursday, normally I would be heading to work, but today the President had called 12 of us in to meet him. We boarded the plane, and I got seated next to the media director. Her job was to censor all of the media that gets broadcasted throughout America. Liftoff was like the definition of perfect, but about halfway through we turned off course. The plane started to shake and it started to roll. It fell to the ground and I blacked out. When I woke up some of the survivors were huddled in a lump. The media director was lying in a pool of crimson blood along with Senator Recken. I tried to get up, but I couldn't, my legs wouldn't move. The health administrator got up a looked at my leg. A piece of the plane had flown into my leg. He removed the metal and bandaged my leg. He helped me up and I started to limp. Everyone thought my leg wouldn't make it. We made a fire with the emergency kit and we huddled up next to it."I'll take the first watch." The head of the police Commander Jake Brennings. We agreed that I would take the second shift, and The FBI agent Dan Brinker would watch until sunrise. We woke up around the middle of the night to the sound of wolves howling. The howling got louder. We got everything we could salvage from the crash and ran. On the way, we ended up losing the disease control officer. We ended up at a river and stopped to take a quick break. The wolves had left us alone and we were safe. For now. When sunrise came we all introduced ourselves. "My name Is lee anna and I am an Air Force managing officer " "My name is Charlie Wesbrose And I am a scientist." Seven more people introduced themselves. It was my turn " I am Caitlyn Reedy and I am a nuclear chemist. We ended up finding a coconut tree. We cracked open a coconut and inside was a security camera. Suddenly everything started to make sense. We crashed on our way to the white house. None of us were in any way related. We were the people keeping Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Reflection Paper On Titanic Today I chose to watch "Titanic" for the very first time. I chose to watch "Titanic, because I wanted to know what the movie was really about, maybe I might like the movie. Actually watching the movie gives you another perspective than just knowing what the setting and theme is about. Many people looked at me like I was crazy, when I said "I had never watched "Titanic", and wanted to finallywatch it, and see if I actually would like, so I gave it a chance. My one regret is coming into the movie hating it and not wanting to enjoy it. I thought that the movie was going to be the worst three hours of my life, I will never make that mistake coming into a movie already hating it before I even watched it. I watched the movie on my laptop in my room alone. My experience during the movie was actually really nice and surprisingly I didn't hate the movie like I said I would. • 12. The Titanic Informative Essay Currently it's 2018, 106 years since the disaster in 1912. A little while ago, we finished the unit on the Titanic and most of my questions were answered. Like exactly how many people were able to survive the tragedy or why did only a few lifeboats go back to find survivors? "706 survivors" and "the people onboard didn't want to die" were the responses I got. There were many other interesting facts about the Titanic, and I'm going to try to include them all in this writing. First things first, the Titanic was said to be "The Ship of Wonders"; and if you were onboard, you would've thought that it truly was. Almost everything onboard was extraordinary. From the bedrooms to the restaurants, everything looked amazing. However, that was if you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Argumentative Essay On The Titanic It may seem clichГ© to have the Titanic as a wonder of the industrial world but we must recognize that it is. Today when we hear the word "Titanic" we think of Leonardo DiCaprio and how he should have won an Oscar for his brilliant work in the movie. Everybody knows the basic story of the Titanic but unfortunately nobody ever goes deeper, the extent of knowledge is the movie and frankly it's quite sad. The Titanic is a wonder of the world for many reasons and deserves to be but don't get me wrong, it wasn't all perfect. In the first half of the 20th century there was great competition between nations and similarly rival shipping lines. J. Bruce Ismay, the chief executive of the White Star Line and William J. Pirrie, the chairman of the Belfast–based...show more content... Although there was such hype for the Titanic and it was supposedly the first of its kind, it was apparently doomed from the start. This new Olympic class ship had a double bottom and 15 watertight bulkheads, which were equipped with electric watertight doors; a switch on the bridge could operate these separately. Shipbuilder magazine actually claimed these bulkheads as "unsinkable" however the manufacturing of these bulkheads had a huge flaw. Even though the bulkheads were watertight, water could leak from one compartment to another practically creating a flood in the compartments. We all know the Titanic sunk and unfortunately we only know of 706 out of 3300 that had reported to be survivors. A large part of the problem that only 706 people were saved was because there was a limited amount of lifeboats carried. There were 20 lifeboats in total, with all of these; only 1178 people could be accommodated even though when the Titanic was full, it could carry 2435 passengers. This left 1257 people unaccounted for, and on top of this, there was a crew of approximately 900 people. Even if all the lifeboats were filled with people, there would be only room for one–third of the ship's population. Today we think that the amount of lifeboats was inadequate however funnily enough, the Titanic had more lifeboats on average than most ships and also exceeded the British Board of Trade's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Essay on Titanic Titanic – Original Writing Titanic, 882 feet long, 92 feet broad, 45000 tons register, 66000 tons displacement and 175 feet high. The biggest and most luxurious ship known to mankind, and she was sitting right in front of me. She looked even bigger in real life and I felt great anticipation and excitement. A chance of a lifetime, I was one of the few lucky enough to be chosen to actually work onboard the Titanic. It was just an hour until the Titanic would set sail on her maiden voyage and I felt I little nervy about boarding her.I decided that the only way to settle my nerves was to consume a moderate amount of brandy. I entered the local bar, which overlooked Southampton dock where the...show more content... I squeezed back through the crowd to a small opening at the bar. I ordered my brandy and whilst waiting for it I listened in on a conversation between two men who looked like engineers. One of the men was arguing that the Titanic was "too heavy and large to float" whilst the other man argued that it was "unsinkable due to its water tight compartments". I turned back to the bar and drank my brandy in one. I'd had enough of the smell and the noise in the bar and made a quick exit. As I approached the Titanic I grabbed hold of my bags and took a deep breath. This voyage was to be the experience of a lifetime and hopefully the start of a career that I had always been looking for. As I clambered up the stairs with my bags, I looked back at the dock for one last time, as I would not see it in months. The first look of Titanic's interior blew me away; it was like walking into a floating palace. As I walked around the ship I was amazed at all the modern technology they had onboard, it even had a heated swimming pool, along with other things like a squash court and a gym. By the time I got back to my starting point I was exhausted. I decided the best thing to do to avoid all the passengers, was to relax in the first class dining saloon. The saloon was not yet open to the boarding passengers and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. Persuasive Essay On The Titanic Titanic: The Unsinkable Ship, is a tragic story we all know well. Ironically enough, as you know, the Titanic (the unsinkable ship) sank; however, the lost and lived lives of the people aboard the tremendous ship when it sank are, sadly, stories we do not know. All of them , rich and poor, were in the same boat, literally, when it crashed into that murderous glacier. However, is the gun the murderer if a man pulled its trigger and the bullet found its awesomely sweet embrace in the chest of another. What I mean is, the death of 1,503 souls could have been saved if pride would have been set aside and warnings heeded. • 17. Titanic Thesis Statement The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true. Everyone knows the story of the Titanic. The ship was on its maiden voyage when it hit an iceberg and sank, leading to the death of more than 1,500 people ("Titanic" A+E Networks).
