2. PRESBYOPIA – It is not a refractive error but a
condition of physiological insufficiency of the lens to
accommodate for near which leads to progressive fall in near
vision.
3. It is generally seen after age of
40years.
In Myop’s ,it can occur in late 40s while
in Hyperop’s , it can be seen in late 30s.
4. CAUSES:
1)Age related changes include;
Decrease in elasticity of the lens capsule.
Progressive increase in size and hardness(sclerosis) of lens
substance.
2)Age related decline in ciliary muscle power.
22. In Myopic Presbyop’s ‘D’ bifocals or
Executive is preferred Option of
correction.
In case of Hyperopic Presbyop’s Kryptok
is preferred option of correction .
26. It is a multifocal lens without any dema
It is made in a form of Aspheric lens.
Upper zone has distance power, midd
intermediate power and the lower zone
Side zone are also known as ‘area of
astigmatism’ or ‘Distortion’.
29. MONOVISION CONTACT LENSES
In this, one eye is corrected for distance with co
while the other eye is corrected for near with sin
vision lens.
It is based on ocular dominance and nature of p
work.
30. MULTIFOCAL CONTACT LENSES
These lenses have different zones for distance
and near.
These lenses are made in a form of Aspheric
lenses.
