Simon Wootton was employed by Quiksilver Europe from 1992 to 2007. Simon was a
valued member of the Quiksilver Marketing Department based in France however
covering the European continent. Simon commenced work as Team Manager in 1992
through to 1997. During this time he displayed a deep understanding of the boardriding
culture, and passion for travel that the position demanded.
In 1999 through 2001 Simon lead the marketing department as the Marketing Manager
with a team of over 25 staff. In his time as manager Simon implemented a truly cross-
cultural vision to the ever-expanding business throughout Europe. In his role Simon was
responsible for 9 direct countries and over 40-distributer countries.
In 2002 through 2007 due to his creative flair Simon was appointed as Creative Manager
for Quiksilver Europe. In this role Simon was responsible for overseeing all creative
related to both product and marketing. This creative roll also involved being part of the
global creative team formed of members from Asia, USA and Europe.
I found Simon to be a dedicated team player, passionate about the surf industry and a
strategic thinker who is always mindful of the bigger picture and business objectives. He
is a focused, organized and outcome driven person who leads by example and gained
the respect of his team. Simon is a positive person and is able to adapt to change and
accept challenges as they arise.
