6. Project: Tengiz, Kazakhstan
We secured a project to design and build a bespoke Solar
Powered IP Camera system for a subsidiary of one of the
worlds largest oil companies. The project in Kazakhstan
has enormous global exposure and our Solar IP CCTV
System (SICS) has been successfully deployed in region.
In a truly collaborative project, our patent pending system
was specifically designed to operate in extremely hostile
environments (-50C to +80C) and in a highly corrosive,
hydrogen sulphide (H2S), atmosphere to deliver reliable HD
surveillance across their wireless network.
An initial 20 units were ordered for our client and this was
quickly increased to 58 units. The systems provide the site
security teams with an autonomous rapidly deployable
surveillance camera in areas that would otherwise be too
costly to install. We are now discussing additional projects
and system variations for further deployments in the region
as our client implements their strategic 40 year plan.
This deployment won Project of the Year 2017 at the IFSEC
Security Fire Excellence Awards.

8. Project: Highways England and Kier,
Strategic Road Network, Area 9, Birmingham
Sunstone were commissioned to provide Kier and
Highways England with the Solar IP CCTV System to
provide surveillance for a key carriageway for the NEC
and Birmingham Airport. The project involved a number
of key stakeholders from Highways England, Kier and
Birmingham City Airport. The project goal was to provide
a secure surveillance feed that was able to stream
directly to the Regional Control Centre, Birmingham City
Airport and Highways England personnel.
Highways England conducted a cost benefit analysis
comparing our system to a traditional hard wired
security system and estimated that our system provided
in excess of £130,000 of savings on this deployment
alone. In more remote locations the savings would
almost certainly be greater.
As a resuIt of the success of this first installation
Sunstone were commissioned to provide Highways
England and Kier with further customised Solar IP CCTV
Systems, incorporating cellular, satellite and wireless
point to point telecommunications.
