Mr. Nick Sharma discussed key learnings from shale gas and oil projects in North America, including critical factors like resource potential, infrastructure, and drilling techniques that have led to significant cost reductions. He pointed to the importance of financial capital, logistics, integrated operations, and production management. Mr. Sharma ended by highlighting some technical issues to help reform Indian policies around unconventional oil and gas. Mr. Harry Vidas discussed Mexico's resource potential for shale gas and why development has been slow compared to areas in Texas. He outlined Mexico's plans to lease prospective shale properties under new legal and fiscal regimes in hopes of boosting shale gas production. However, Mexico still faces challenges that may limit substantial shale gas development.

Key Learnings
from North
America plays
The purpose of this presentation is
to discuss the worldwide
technological advancement in global
production of oil and gas.
He discussed critical factors like
(Resource potential, OFS Capacity,
E&P Landscape, Infrastructure,
Development constraints) which may
help to achieve sustainable
development as well as economic
viability while proposing
Unconventionals globally. He also
mentioned the importance of
financial capital, good logistic
infrastructure, drilling techniques,
integrated operations, base
production including management
that resulted into significant
reduction in cost per well in North
American plays.
He ended his lecture with pointing
some technical issues in order to
bring systematic changes in Indian
policies regarding to shale gas & oil.
Mr. Harry Vidas How Mexico Hopes The purpose of this presentation is
2. to Use Reforms to
Boost Shale Gas
Production
to discuss the resource potential for
shale gas production in Mexico and
why its development has been slow
even though geologically similar
resource across the border in the
Eagle Ford play of South Texas have
seen enormous levels of investment.
He also discussed the specific legal
and fiscal regimes under which
Mexico plans that the prospective
shale gas properties will be leased
and developed. Finally, the
presentation ended with the pros
and cons of the Mexican efforts and
how likely they are to result in
substantial shale gas development in
Mexico.
