1. POST SHOW REPORT
2ND
ANNUAL
GAS FLARINGMANAGEMENT SUMMIT 2015
12 - 13 MAY 2015
LE ROYAL MERIDIEN, ABU DHABI, UAE
INNOVATIONS IN FLARE GAS MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGIES
SUPPORTED BY
2. The 2nd
Annual Gas Flaring Management Summit is a platform for both producers and policy makers to learn about
the management of associated gasses. Natural gas is the most important contributer to the sustainability sector.
It will be a fuel to power nations. However the key issue to focus on is how much green house gasses are emitted
during natural gas development, production, transportation and storage. Gas Flaring is a Key issue to be focused on
by the producers in order to create a more sustainable industry. Creating a sustainable energy infrastructure is one
of the objectives of the UAE 2021 vision.
The UAE has understood that in
order to grow its economy and social
development, it needs to further develop
its infrastructure to improve the quality
of air, reserve its resources and increase
its contribution for cleaner energy. The
oil and gas sector has been a contributer
to the success of the UAE. Decades ago
our founding leaders understood the
importance of energy sector with the well
being of the nation.
The success of UAE in applying a
responsible gas flaring policy is the
resource of 3 key elements
1) The reduction of gas flaring is the
result of a good leadership that UAE has
committed itself to develop responsible
gas flaring policies. In the early 1970‘s a
visit to an oil production feasility by the
late Shaikh Zayed Al Nahyan noticed the
flaring of the associated gasses into the
atmosphere and questioned how can this
be stooped. This has been the driving
factor of the UAE in its commitment and
innovator in this sector.
2) The Use of highly sophisticated
and modern tools in the oil and gas sector.
The UAE has been in the forefront in the
creation of the talent in human resources
required to push the boundaries in the
reduction of gas flaring under the high
standards of safety. It has highly invested
in its technology and procedure in detail to
detail, project after project.
3) We have the partnership of
industry leading companies in the creation of pioneer projects. The benefit of addicting gas flaring cuts has been
multiplying. Less emissions are the most important contributer to achieving a more sustainable sector.
Moreover flare gas reduction technology in both reduction and re-utilisation of associated gasses are both of value
to the oil and gas sector and the UAE as a whole.
