Abstract
College is a place where we meet many new people in our life, especially in a
residential campus. It is a place where most people come into their first relationship.
In addition, relationships are not always so simple, and easy going, there are many
ups and downs. Moreover, not only in relationships, but also in everything we go
through after entering a completely new life. We come across situations where we
wish to share our feelings with someone, but sometimes we do not have the
capability to accept the situation in front of someone else.
3. 1. Key Partners
The business model of LifeSoul is multi-faceted with students being the centre of focus. Apart
from students, following are our key partners:
i. Professional counsellors
ii. JGU Health centre
iii. JGU peer support team
iv. A professional, established psychiatrist/psychologist as core advisor
v. Application developers
2. Key Activities
The core idea of LifeSoul is to connect the students in need of counselling with professional
therapists anonymously. This will be done with the help of an anonymous chat app. The app will
be developed by third party developers. An android app will be developed in the initial stage
with web support, so that the iOS users can access the platform through mobile web. One
therapist shall be online at all times of the day from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. in the night. The therapist
shall have the power and liberty to recommend the case be further forwarded to a professional
psychiatrist, if she/he feels the need to do so. The student will also be provided with an option
to schedule a personal meeting with the counsellor, if she/he is open to the option.
3. Key Resources
Access to health centre facilities
One professional psychiatrist
At least 2 counsellors
Student partners
App development kit
4. Value Proposition
The core value proposition of LifeSoul is mental and emotional wellness, what is defined in
contemporary times as EQ (Emotional Quotient). There are peer support teams and counsellors
on campus in JGU, however, our USP is that we offer anonymity to students. We believe that
this will enable more students and users to avail this facility.
5. Customer relationship
The client-customer relationship will be anonymous, while simultaneously adopting a hands-on
approach. There is a provision where the customer can exercise his right to break the anonymity
and schedule a one-on-one meeting with the counsellor. However, while the counsellor can
suggest for a personal meeting, it can be done only after consent from the customer. However,
the counsellor has the right to further recommend the case to a professional psychiatrist if she
feels that patient needs a more professional help and intervention. In such cases, the details of
the patient will be shared with the psychiatrist only.
4. 6. Channels
The primary channel of operation will be a mobile application. A mobile web application will also
be developed for iOS users as initially only the android version will be launched. There will be a
separate sign-in portals for students/staff and the counsellors/psychiatrists. The identities of
people on both sides shall be adequately protected. The messages will be encrypted end-to-end.
Marketing for the app will be done through conduction of seminars, email and volunteer
campaigns.
7. Customer Segments
Our core customer segment, as mentioned earlier are students staying on campus. However, as
an extension, our service is also open for faculty and staff members. The need for anonymous
counselling in a university campus is quite large as the number of cases of depression that go
unreported is ever increasing. This problem can be stemmed in the bud with LifeSoul.
8. Revenue streams and cost structure
On an initial stage, the cost of enrolling in LifeSoul has been kept nil. We believe LifeSoul to be of
social significance and a service to the society. The immediate costs of app development will be
covered through bootstrapping and sponsorships. Since the therapists and psychiatrists do not
have to work full-time and are not bound by any location constraints, we will recruit them with a
call to their social sensitivities that such an act, is a service for the greater good of the society at
large.
However, we do intend to monetize in the near future as we can make a definite impact on the
social well-being of the students on campus. We intend to call upon angel VCs after a burn
period of 2 years with a plan to expand in other universities and cities.
