• Retirees are having challenges when navigating
their retiree benefits due to lack of skills and
experience using online platforms and
technology
• Lack of confidence and proficiency with using
technology causes a need to train this population
on navigating technology
Why is This a Problem?
Retirees refer using paper to process insurance
claims and benefits
This results in errors, slow processing, and
increased calls for benefit
administration companies
Produces high amounts of waste that could
be prevented if claims are processed online
Why Does This Divide
Exist?
• Seniors do not understand the purpose of integrating
technology
• Visual impairments and physical disabilities
• Lack of skills using technology leading to stress
• Lack of exposure to technology
• Comfort using their preferred methods without
technology

• Prevents cognitive decline as learning technology
challenges the mind
• Elearning can be personalized to fit learners' needs
• Can also progress through course on their own pace-
quickly or slowly
• Interactive material keeps learners engaged
Conclusion
• If retirees learn how to use online platforms
and technology, then they will be more
equipped to navigate their own benefits
using the online systems
• More efficient and accurate benefits
processing will occur, cutting down the
amount of time retirees are on the phone
with questions , minimizing time wasted

Needs Analysis: Retirees and Technology • Retirees are having challenges when navigating their retiree benefits due to lack of skills and experience using online platforms and technology • Lack of confidence and proficiency with using technology causes a need to train this population on navigating technology
  • 4. Why is This a Problem? Retirees refer using paper to process insurance claims and benefits This results in errors, slow processing, and increased calls for benefit administration companies Produces high amounts of waste that could be prevented if claims are processed online

Conclusion • If retirees learn how to use online platforms and technology, then they will be more equipped to navigate their own benefits using the online systems • More efficient and accurate benefits processing will occur, cutting down the amount of time retirees are on the phone with questions , minimizing time wasted
