1. An experienced, licensed, professional in the academic arena, Ronna Sharp has served private, public, parochial, and
therapeutic day schools in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, for over thirty years. With a degree in early childhood /
elementary education, a master's degree in special education (learning disabilities / behavioral disorders / academic
assessments), as well as a master's of education in administration and supervision, Mrs. Sharp has had a variety of
responsibilities throughout her career.
Having been a classroom teacher as well as an administrator, has given her a unique perspective, which . as a master
teacher and a past Kohl Teaching Award Nominee, she has used to mentor colleagues and supervise student teachers for
NEIU and CSU. She was invited to join the faculty at Zarem-Golde ORT Technical Institute, Harper College, and the NEIU
Day Care / Lab School, where she trained as an undergraduate, in addition to being asked to sit on the advisory boards of
Zarem-Golde ORT Technical Institute and Sanford-Brown University Dental Hygiene Clinic.
As the Founder / Director of a non-profit preschool / nursery / daycare / kindergarten & summer camp for ten years /
seasons , incorporating an innovative early intervention program to include several preschoolers with Down’s Syndrome, as
well as several physically disabled students. She designed the layout , developed curriculum, oversaw the facility
expansion, subsequently consulted for several other preschool programs. Due to her high professional standards, hers was
the first independent preschool to be state licensed, accredited, and affiliated with a local school district. Due to many
requests, she then began a series of workshops for her parent body. It was during this time, as well, that she began her
legendary babysitter classes, having trained hundreds of students over the years.
She has a wealth of experience to draw upon, and has undertaken new challenges commensurate with each stage of her
professional development. After teaching in several local private schools for many years, she served as principal and site
director for several therapeutic day school programs for Chicago public school students, as well as eight north suburban
districts, serving elementary through high school students, over the last 15 years, and was appointed national vice-
president of special education for her parent company.
Throughout her professional life, Mrs. Sharp has had a small private practice, servicing three factions: staff, students, and
