Children’s day was celebrated with much pomp and fervour this year. The day began with the assembly by the Kindergarten and Grade 2 students. The Kindergarteners dressed up as various animals of the jungle and impressed the audience with their moves. K2 on the other hand presented a dance drama that focused on the issues of child labour. This was followed by “Ubuntu” a performance by grade 2, where the students brought to light issues like female infanticide, child labour and other issues of child abuse that are prevalent in our country. Children’s Rights formed the crux of the assembly this children’s day. As a part of the children’s day celebrations, SNIS conducted inter house music competition for the students. Geetanjali - Kannada Rajyotsava based music competition for grades 1, 2 and 3, Antakshari from grades 4 to 6 and a Bollywood music quiz from grades 7 to 10. Even the teachers didn’t hold back this children’s day. The afternoon session of the day saw teachers dance and sing and turn actors for their students. It’s was a very eventful afternoon and the students were left asking for more!
