“Let’s all focus on the people who are helping, and be one of them.” ― Peta Kelly The students of grade K1 learnt about the different community helpers around them. The students gained knowledge on the various community places they see around them and also the various people who makes the work easier. As part of this unit the students went on a field trip to a nearby Post Office and Fire station on 22nd March 2019, to see how the community helpers work. The students wrote letters independently to their parents and dropped them in the post box. They had an opportunity to have discussions with the post master, post men and people at the post office. The visit to the Fire Station was an enriching one as they were taught some ways and means to prevent fire. The students were very excited to see the fire truck with its different mechanisms. The Station Master interacted with each of them and gave them a brief insight into their work. This trip was very informative and students thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
