BT Compute is a cloud computing service that has adapted over time from being hardware and hypervisor specific in its early iterations to becoming more agnostic. It launched running the CloudStack platform in 2011 and was expanded internationally from 2012 onward. The service aims to continue adapting through initiatives like facilitating a global survey on CloudStack, integrating additional technologies like CloudSoft for application runtimes, and adopting network function virtualization and software-defined networking.
