Covid 19 diagnosis using x-ray images and deep learning

The year 2020 has witnessed the effects of global pandemic outbreak through the
unprecedented spread of novel corona virus COVID-19. As the testing of
coronavirus happened manually in the initial stage, the ever-increasing number of
COVID-19 cannot be handled efficiently. Also, the coronavirus is divided into 3
phases and it has different effects on lungs. To handle this situation, researchers
have attempted to detect coronavirus using chest X-ray images and Chest CT scan
images by using Artificial Intelligence [AI] technologies. AI helps to forecast the
coronavirus cases for analysing the virus structure and chest X-Ray and CT scan
images helps to predict the stags of corona virus. Henceforth, this paper has
developed a CNN model, which utilizes 3 classes as follows: positive COVID-19
images, normal images and viral pneumonia images. The model has been trained on
these set of images and got 94% of accuracy on training dataset and 96% of accuracy
on validation dataset. The proposed model has achieved the test accuracy of 94% for
3 classes in Chest X-Ray image classification. The main motive behind developing
this model is to reduce its computational time by using less layers and more hyper
parameter tuning. The proposed model is compared with pre-existing models as
they were more complex and took much training time. Till now 94% of accuracy has
been achieved on test dataset.

Agriculture is a crucial element to build a strong economy, not only because of its importance in providing food, but also as a source of raw materials for industry as well as source of energy. Different diseases affect plants, which leads to decrease in productivity. In recent years, developments in computing technology and machine-learning algorithms (such as deep neural networks) in the field of agriculture have played a great role to face this problem by building early detection tools. In this paper, we propose an automatic plant disease classification based on a low complexity convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture, which leads to faster online classification. For the training process, we used more than one 57,000 tomato leaf images representing nine classes, taken under natural environment, and considered during training without background subtraction. The designed model achieves 97.04% classification accuracy and less than 0.2 error, which shows a high accuracy in distinguishing a disease from another.

One reliable way of detecting coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is using a chest x-ray image due to its complications in the lung parenchyma. This paper proposes a solution for COVID-19 detection in chest x-ray images based on a convolutional neural network (CNN). This CNN-based solution is developed using a modified InceptionV3 as a backbone architecture. Selfattention layers are inserted to modify the backbone such that the number of trainable parameters is reduced and meaningful areas of COVID-19 in chest x-ray images are focused on a training process. The proposed CNN architecture is then learned to construct a model to classify COVID-19 cases from non-COVID-19 cases. It achieves sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy values of 93%, 96%, and 96%, respectively. The model is also further validated on the so-called other normal and abnormal, which are nonCOVID-19 cases. Cases of other normal contain chest x-ray images of elderly patients with minimal fibrosis and spondylosis of the spine, whereas other abnormal cases contain chest x-ray images of tuberculosis, pneumonia, and pulmonary edema. The proposed solution could correctly classify them as non-COVID-19 with 92% accuracy. This is a practical scenario where nonCOVID-19 cases could cover more than just a normal condition.

There has been a surge in biomedical imaging technologies with the recent advancement of deep learning. It is being used for diagnosis from X-ray, computed tomography (CT) scan, electrocardiogram (ECG), and electroencephalography (EEG) images. However, most of them are solely for particular disease detection. In this research, a computer-aided deep learning model named COVID-CXDNetV2 has been presented to detect two separate diseases, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and pneumonia, from the X-ray images in real-time. The proposed model is made based on you only look once (YOLOv2) with residual neural network (ResNet) and trained by a vast X-ray images dataset containing 3788 samples of three classes named COVID-19 pneumonia and normal. The model has obtained the maximum overall classification accuracy of 97.9% with a loss of 0.052 for multiclass classification (COVID-19, pneumonia, and normal) and 99.8% accuracy, 99.52% sensitivity, 100% specificity with a loss of 0.001 for binary classification (COVID-19 and normal), which beats some current state-of-the-art results. Authors believe that this method will be applicable in the medical domain for the diagnosis and will significantly contribute to real life.

The world is facing a tough situation due to the catastrophic pandemic caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The number people affected by this virus are increasing exponentially day by day and the number has already crossed 6.4 million. As no vaccine has been discovered yet, the early detection of patients and isolation is the only and most effective way to reduce the spread of the virus. Detecting infected persons from chest X-Ray by using Deep Neural Networks, can be applied as a time and laborsaving solution. In this study, we tried to detect Covid-19 by classification of Covid-19, pneumonia and normal chest X-Rays. We used five different Convolutional Pre-Trained Neural Network models (VGG16, VGG19, Xception, InceptionV3 and Resnet50) and compared their performance. VGG16 and VGG19 shows precise performance in classification. Both models can classify between three kinds of X-Rays with an accuracy over 92%. Another part of our study was to find the impact of weather factors (temperature, humidity, sun hour and wind speed) on this pandemic using Decision Tree Regressor. We found that temperature, humidity and sun-hour jointly hold 85.88% impact on escalation of Covid-19 and 91.89% impact on death due to Covid-19 where humidity has 8.09% impact on death. We also tried to predict the death of an individual based on age, gender, country, and location due to COVID-19 using the Logistic Regression, which can predict death of an individual with a model accuracy of 94.40%.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) still has disastrous effects on human life around the world. For fight that disease. Examination on the patients who have been sucked in quick and cheap way is necessary. Radiography is most effective step closer to this target. Chest X-ray is readily obtainable and cheap option. Also, because COVID-19 is a virus, distinguish COVID-19 from common viral pneumonia from common viral pneumonia is difficult. In this study, X-ray images of 500, 500, 500, and 500 patients for healthy controls, typical viral pneumonia, bacterial pneumonia and COVID-19, were collected respectively. To our knowledge, this was the first quaternary classification study that also included classical viral pneumonia. To efficiently capture nuances in X-ray images, a new model was created by applying convolution neural network for accurate image classification. Our model outperformed to achieve an overall accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, F1-score, and area under curve (AUC) of 0.98, 0.97, 0.98, 0.97, and 0.99 respectively.

A Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic detection considers a critical and challenging task for the medical practitioner. The coronavirus disease spread so rapidly between people and infected more than one hundred and seventy million people worldwide. For this reason, it is necessary to detect infected people with coronavirus and take action to prevent virus spread. In this study, a COVID-19 classification methodology was adopted to detect infected people using computed tomography (CT) images. Deep learning was applied to recognize COVID-19 infected cases for different patients by employing deep features. This methodology can be beneficial for medical practitioners to diagnose infected patients. The results were based on a new data collection named BasrahDataset that includes different CT scan videos for Iraqi patients. The proposed system gave promised results with a 99% F1-score for detecting COVID-19.

2. The year 2020 has witnessed the effects of global pandemic outbreak through the unprecedented spread of novel corona virus COVID-19. As the testing of coronavirus happened manually in the initial stage, the ever-increasing number of COVID-19 cannot be handled efficiently. Also, the coronavirus is divided into 3 phases and it has different effects on lungs. To handle this situation, researchers have attempted to detect coronavirus using chest X-ray images and Chest CT scan images by using Artificial Intelligence [AI] technologies. AI helps to forecast the coronavirus cases for analysing the virus structure and chest X-Ray and CT scan images helps to predict the stags of corona virus. Henceforth, this paper has developed a CNN model, which utilizes 3 classes as follows: positive COVID-19 images, normal images and viral pneumonia images. The model has been trained on these set of images and got 94% of accuracy on training dataset and 96% of accuracy on validation dataset. The proposed model has achieved the test accuracy of 94% for 3 classes in Chest X-Ray image classification. The main motive behind developing this model is to reduce its computational time by using less layers and more hyper parameter tuning. The proposed model is compared with pre-existing models as they were more complex and took much training time. Till now 94% of accuracy has been achieved on test dataset.
