Scenario Description:
The New variant has spread like a wildfire. Daily thousands of people are contracting the new variation. People already vaccinated are also falling critically ill under the sweep of
the spread. The government & vaccine institutions are struggling to invent a new vaccine that provides effective protection against the new variant. The enforcement mechanism
for containment areas, personal hygiene & sanitization has failed, while the government is blaming the public for the failure under the influence of self serving bias.
Scenario Outcome:
• The hospitality industry has shattered to dust. Many of the well-known hotel chains have declared themselves bankrupt & closed their business. Those who have survived, have
been taken over by the giant conglomerates.
• People are refraining from traveling & staying at hotels due to fear of contracting the deadly virus. People with the utmost necessity to travel for business are only taking the
risk.
• Corporates, government officials & ministers are largely relying on digital platforms for meetings. Booking of itinerary is done through digital platforms only.
• Traveling for leisure is considered a luxury due to the soaring prices. People are preferring to travel surrounding their dwelling in vacations, which has kept the local tourism
business alive. People have started demanding certification of sanitization from hotels, as they have started believing under the influence of confirmation bias that hotels are not
following the sanitization rules for cost cutting.
