Definition:
• Also known as films, are a type of visual communication which use
moving pictures and sound to tell stories or inform (help people to
learn).
History of Films:
• The history of film began in the 1890s, when motion picture cameras
were invented and film production companies started to be
established.
• Because of the limits of technology, films of the 1890s were under a
minute long and until 1927 motion pictures were produced without
sound.
• The first film studios were built in 1897. Special effects were
introduced and film continuity, involving action moving from one
sequence into another, began to be used
Famous Industries of Film:
•Hollywood
•Bollywood
•Lollywood
Types of Movies:
• Biopic Movies
• Horror Movies
• Comedy Movies
• Action Movies
• Historical Movies
• Adventure Movies
• Fantasy Movies
• Science Fiction
Biopic Movies:
•Such films show the life of a historical person and the
central character's real name is used.
• Such Movies are based on true story.
•And it Show the rise and glory of that person’s life.
• Examples: Dangal ,Shah, MS Dhoni etc
Horror Movies:
• Horror movies are those movies that put out the
emotions of fear, disgust and horror from viewers
• Hollywood is best in producing horror movies.
• Some famous horror movies are conjuring 2,
Annabelle etc
Reaction after watching horror movie:
Comedy Movies:
• These films are designed to make the audience laugh.
• These are stress relieving movies
• At least for 2 hours people forget their worries
• Some comedy movies give great lessons of life.
• Some famous comedy movies are 3 idiots, Hera Pheri , Munna Bhai
MBBS etc
Action Movies:
• Are designed to hold the interest by the use of a high
suspense.
• In action movies , both hero and villain roles are important.
• In these movies you can see actor and villain running for each
other in bus bike etc.
• Some famous actor of action movies are Bruce Lee, Jakie Chan
etc
Reaction of aunties when actor die:
Historical/Period Movie:
• A historical film is a fiction film showing past events or set within
a historical period.
• It is based on true story
• Some of the famous historical movies are jodha akbar, bajirao mastani
etc
• But the history should be shown correctly because it has a impact on
generation either positive or negative of that person they are showing.
• As a movie called Padmavaat destroyed the image of Alauddin Khalji
REAL What they have shown
Advantages of Movies:
• Entertainment – Movies are a source of entertainment. Everybody
wants to relax and be amused.
• Lesson of Teamwork – A movie is a collaborative work.
• Films Educate us – Films are platter of various disciplines, they show us
history, culture, science, technology, politics and lot more
• Source of Inspiration – Movies inspire people all across the globe
by teaching some lessons.
• Movies are mirror to society
Disadvantages of movies:
• Some movies promote violence .
• Some of them are wastage of time and also money.
• Movies divert the focus of students from study. They
waste their time watching movies.
• You can lose a grip on reality
• Some movies establish false notions.
• Some movies promote crimes.
