Academic Reflection
Fall 16
I came entered in collage as an early childhood education major and thought it would be
the career choice I wanted. Recently I changed my major from education to human services. This
was a big step for me. This semester has been a challenge for me because I’ve been in school for
3 years with an education major and that’s all I honestly knew. Changing my major was a big
leap, but I am really enjoying it so far.
Personal and Professional Development course has taught me multiple of things from
dealing with stress to improving relationships. Stress is a major factor for everyone whether
people realize it or not. Reducing stress can make life so much more enjoyable if people took the
steps to find ways to reduce their stress levels. I recommend people to make time for themselves
to do something they love in order to reduce some stress.
Human Services is a career path that has many different opportunities that I had no clue
about. I can still work with children and work with the special needs which makes me excited
that I did decide to change my major. I believe that this major is the best choice I have made so
far!
